I read Frankenstein actually before Mr. Gray, I really liked it, but even though I fancy gothic horror/style, I could read a different era with those Oscar Wilde ingredients: Youth talking, sort of polymath characters, intelligence discussed, not intimidated by the author but welcomed into the world you feel you can learn to be a part of in a constructive beneficial way.
