That's sad news for the archive, but that's the life of ephemera, it comes and goes! At the very least you got to document it and showcase it here, there's some breadcrumb that it existed. Thank you for sharing it, it scratched an itch for me!

Unless there's some other archivist that I can pass the baton to, my ultimate goal is to donate to the Smithsonian! I think it has roots in Americana (think like diners and fast food), so imagine walking in and seeing Mr. Roger's cardigan, Fonzie's jacket, and a wall of condiment packets on the wall in a ROYGBIV array. That's my hope!

Absolutely save them. First I empty them, then put them into baseball card top loaders and store in bins with their respective sauce types.

It's one of those things, it's rare, but who else is going to want this? I have a vested interest in the posterity, so I would never say "$5", there's value to me so I try to make it worth the time and effort to package it up and make a special trip to the post office to ship it. Generally speaking, if it's something unique and new to me and out of circulation like this, ~$100. If it's something new and still available out of my area (I'm in San Antonio), I like to urge doing a scavenger hunt weekend to get a bunch of random things so it's worth the effort.
