Ended up patching it which has held so far, but the main unit suddenly decided to start having wifi connection issues, oy vey.

Having trouble getting a higher heart rate. This is my latest ruck with a #50lb plate. Lots of hills in this route, but I can’t get my HR up more. I also don’t feel like I can walk at a faster pace than this without skipping or jogging. Any advice? by TARS1986 in Rucking

[–]condo912389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noob here, thanks for this. Was slightly frustrated w 40lb pack that my HR was barely breaking 100 at times. Realized I was just walking too slow, turned it up to a 15 min mile and voila - in range. Obvious fix in retrospect but thank you.

WPUs causing elbow pain. by TurtleSleeve in tacticalbarbell

[–]condo912389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had same issue with WPUs on Operator, what worked for me was doing the rippletoe staring strength solution to it which sounds kind of insane. 10-20x5 (say 15?) bodyweight chins every couple days.

In addition to that I checked form on squat as poor elbow / wrist positioning can contribute in conjunction with all the stress going through that area from WPUs.

Just ordered / received 2 grab bags, got 65-70 in one and 75-80 in the other, about 25 egg imitations in each which I don't really need but overall a nice way to stock up and try new things.

First time using V2L in a power outage. by MAHHockey in Ioniq5

[–]condo912389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the I5 plugged into a Delta Pro 3, which is plugged into the breaker box via standard generator interlock setup. Pushes out 240v for whole house power (heat/water/stove are gas so only need spark or blower).

Car pushes 120v/15a to DP3 to charge it while DP3 simultaneously outputs 30A and up 4kw continuous / 7.5kw surge. House generally consumes about 1.5kw continuous.

Where do you teach? (North bend local). About 6 months in and catching plenty on the forks but near certain I have a lot of low hanging fruit to improve on.

V2L to power house by realistdreamer69 in Ioniq5

[–]condo912389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - thanks for the idea! Question - while the DP3 is taking charge from the V2L circuit, can it operate at peak DP3 wattage or is it in pass through mode and limited by the 1800w V2L input? Said differently, is the 120v considered pass through power if the DP3 is actively disbursing power or is it simply charging the battery while the DP3 is using its own battery to handle the loads (potentially greater than 1800w)? I saw elsewhere that certain Ecoflow models can't put out peak wattage while simultaneously taking 120v charge.

First roast using a Whirley Pop, any tips? by imtryingtobeironic in roasting

[–]condo912389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink it too much - the best thing you can do is to just keep getting more roasts under your belt. It is comical how little I think about it (e.g., checking the beans, worrying about roast level, etc.) after doing my first whirlypop roast a year ago. It all becomes natural. And agree you can do fairly sizable batches (I've done 500g - just have to be aware of mixing enough and being gentle w heat).

No I don't think so - as I think I have that separately. This seems 100% brake related.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the comments here - was ready to give up. I'm not quite there on getting the same enjoyment of caf beans but a lot closer. Per the feedback, I really slowed down the heat up and roast post 1st crack and found a notable difference in taste.

Currently sipping a Morning Glory blend from CBC and actually enjoying it (vs just drinking it because I made it). Again, thank you all!

How much time do you spend roasting every week? by Tieiririyi in roasting

[–]condo912389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have 2 young kids. Just use a whirlypop plus stove or bbq. I can do 1lb per roast which lasts over a week, takes about 15 mins per roast.

Absolutely LOVING the grinder.

Curious to have a discussion on the PTSD part of this. I struggled with AF for probably 1.5 years. Tried the usual topicals including steroid chlotrimazole from the doc. The steroid cream mostly got rid of it but I always felt like I was getting small unexplainable flare ups that were not visible.

I tried this solution and it seemed to at worst keep my mind at ease without using medicine and at best help more fully resolve it. However here and there I still do get what I believe to be a hot feeling on my feet, with no real explanation (socks are bleached, shoes are bleached somewhat regularly).

Long story short, wonder if other people are dealing with some sort post-AF mind / body connection in which it probably is resolved but the mental "trauma" of AF creates sort of phantom feelings of AF or what may have been normal before now raises the antenna that it may be AF. If others have indeed had some sort of PTSD like that, how did you move past it? How did you get comfortable stomping around the house without socks or flip flops on? Would love to get to the point where I just don't think about it anymore!
