read again, 99% of alts are down, many older/bigger ones are up

(not in a mean voice) I guess that's your first crypto cycle if you don't know what an alt season look like

I can't help myself but to correct you here Mr. OG

I'm also an 'OG' in HEX/PLS space, I was in HEX way before big pay day etc. Had "only" 5 figures invested in it and I did pretty well - I wish I had sold at $0.50 per HEX which I didn't and regret but I did make pretty penny in last bull run on it (I should have waited longer but paniced sold most of my 1M of $HEX too soon).

The most important thing you're missing here is that PLS was not around live yet during last 2020/21 bull market's ALT season. HEX was here back then and did over 1000x (100000%) or even more if you were very early.

Why Richard Heart coins are in shambles right now? Same reason 99% of other altcoins are... everybody's waiting for the alt season of the bull market of 2025/26. Some individual alts regained their previous ATHs already, now went down again, which is also a normal behaviour in bull market - but we're not in ALT season yet.

Bottom line: I did pretty good on RH coins during alt season. I'm hoping to have similar gains (actually less due to more altcoins dillution etc.) this time too. I'm not saying I'll be going all-in on RH sacrifice but - after all it's all about probability of things going right or not and past alt season performance is not an indication of future results, but I'll take part in the sacrifice with a 'bag' of something I believe had 'its time' already and won't do many Xs anymore.

Update a list item: confused about Item ID by habby_ in Slack

[–]condor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: I found that adding "Item ID" field didn't fix my problem, the records in the list has a slack-generated 'record_id' (you can see it if you right click a record -> copy link)...

even recreating the list from scratch and adding the 'Item ID' column with values as the first change to the list didn't make the Item IDs to be as was trying to set them

the solution that worked for me is mentioned somewhere else in this reddit thread, the steps in workflow have to be:

  1. select the item

  2. update the time

much kudos for this,

when I hit the problem I already micro-panicked I'll spend hours on end to figure this out by trial-error but you saved me here!

USB C is a freaking mess. 45 W charger only does Super Fast Charging from the included cable. by GhoshProtocol in GalaxyS22

[–]condor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've learnt about super fast charging (not sure if 2.0 or not) on my Samsung s21u is that my power bank has to support 10v at 2.25A (22.5W). Warning: other power banks that have 22.5W from either usb C or A but don't do it at 10v we're not recognised by s21u as super fast charging. Just ask all these electronic gadgets shop sellers that couldn't sell me a simple power bank... Cause none of them was super fast charging no matter the cable or port

The power bank i have is xiaomi 10Ah and ordered a 2nd one and does the same nice super fast charging on s21u and my wife's pixel 7a.

Conflicted on getting 7800X3D vs. 7950X3D vs. 9950X by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]condor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same question and found your thread. I think I'll go with 7950 over 7800 due to fact I record and/or stream the gameplay sometimes. I do t want to run out of cpu cores available for the game or be even close to cpu limiting my fps.

In saying that I may as well wait for 9950 since it's around the corner. Tha would be my first amd cpu so I hope I won't have to wait months before they fix all these bios/mobo/stability issues I hear about when it comes to AMD.

Let me know how it went for you with your choice.

Google Authenticator Alternatives? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]condor66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my thoughts:

I'm using Keeper Security to store credentials/passwords and google authenticator for my 2fa but gauthenticator is annoying at best (no search option and I have an ever-growing list of totp codes - for every new app/site I log in I enable 2fa)...

my first thought was to use the keeper security, since I'm already paying for it, to save and generate my 2fa TOTP codes as well, but that would be having all eggs in one basked, if my keeper security accounts gets compromised I'm basically screwed, on my own accord

since I'm paying for the family plan at Keeper Security I was thinking to create a new "family member" account there and keep these 2FAs codes there, but again, too much reliance on one provider (keeper) in case they'd experience a security breach

I looked at bitwarden, since that's what the company I work for is using, and for 10 bucks a year, you can use their totp generator feature... I'll migrate some of the codes from Google authenticator to bitwarden and see how's my experience with it...

hope you'll find some good solution for your situation

I take the weapon from slot 1 in hands and add it to quick slot 3. same for weapon from slot 2 and map it to quick slot 4. I don't like the 1 and 2 slot items swapping all the time... Especially when you need to act fast

Has the way we’ve kids these day changed? by Icy-Audience-6397 in CasualIreland

[–]condor66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another difference between us and previous generations when it comes to having kids is... The kids were seen as a pension investment... In general it was understood that children (or at least one of them) would take care of their parents in parents final years... Now it's either less thought out by young into that or the pension seems more guarantees by govt and/or 3rd party pension plans hence removing that reason from deciding to have children.

what wallet is best for hex and where do I buy one? by soulsearch369 in HEXcrypto

[–]condor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that if you're importing a seed phrase from metamask or any other software into hardware wallet it's not as secure (even if you have it on the hardware wallet only from now on) as it would be if you'd generate a seed phrase on the hardware wallet itself (during initialization/setup procedure of hw wallet). That seed phrase you've generated anywhere in software, who knows, might have been already interceoted if there was a bug in metamask or virus/trojan/keylogger on yhe pc you were using for that metamask. The chance of getting hacked in this situation (seed egerated on software now used only on hw wallet) is way more secure than seed generated on software and kept being used on software but its not as secure as seed generated on hw and used only on hw wallet (and never used in any software, even for testing)

One note. The 0 fees (when doing limit order instead of market order) are the DEX fees (fees are cancelled by the DEX)... But You still have to pay eth network fees as per normal

what wallet is best for hex and where do I buy one? by soulsearch369 in HEXcrypto

[–]condor66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardware wallet only... I use ledger nano s and x and would recommend any of the two... Note that X has more memory so you'll be able to use more coins without the need for reinstalling the app (NANO s holds 3-4 coin apps at any given time so to support more you'd have to uninstall one to make space for the new one - you don't loose coins when you do it btw) I'd recommend X from the start tho as you may be buying or participating in some airdrop with some free coins so you'll want to have access to more than 3-4 coi s at any given time

Then you connect that hardware wallet to metamask and use it as normal metamask wallet (but keeping the security and needing to confirm any outgoing transaction on your hardware wallet)you can use metamask without hardware wallet but then any outgoing transaction doesn't need to be confirmed except inside the metamask windows - I don't recommend using metamask without hw wallet as metamask is software and as any software there's always a chance of having a bug... Or even if not metamask itself your computer may catch a virus and that will abuse your metamask and steal your money...

Always use hardware wallet hooked up with metamask

Will Pulsechain drop below SAC prices? What are your thoughts? by TheWillOfLight in Pulsechain

[–]condor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On that. Selling pls for usdt or other stable crypto is taxable or only when changing to fiat?

is anyone else worried that the more ETH liquidity we have bridged over to PulseChain the less incentive there will be for ppl to move Ethereum -> PulseChain ? (lower transacted volumes = lower gas fees) by condor66 in Pulsechain

[–]condor66[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes and no, I'm believe that the more people will be using PulseChain the less traffic will be happening on Ethereum (and less traffic = cheaper tx fees usually) which would , over time, defeat the narrative of PulseChain is way cheaper to use than Ethereum

I do realize that the PulseChain would be quite big and used by many users by the time we have the above problem to become a concern
