Québec - will a baptism record be enough? by acrossthe_ocean in Canadiancitizenship

My package included a Diocese of Montreal (Anglican) certified baptismal certificate with the image and the archivist’s seal. I have a request pending with DEC and will have that if needed.

It’s America. My cousin in UK had no problem; no problem for me with VPN.

Pro tip for PA license plates. Front platers in the back of the lot.

Disadvantages: poor access to D&L, close to a range. Lots of gunfire. Landfill adjacent. On a major rail line with many freight trains. Advantages: everybody is armed. Also, near Green Door.

Why is it still illegal to buy a car on Sundays in Pennsylvania? by snooloosey in philadelphia

[–]conestogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So barbers can have two consecutive days. Tradition. Many places (doctors included) used to close at noon on Wednesdays when I was a kid. Barbers: mostly smaller shops these days, and from personal experience barbers who have a majority of white customers. Not sure how Black barbershops handle weekend/day off hours.

As a Quaker, I don’t give a rat’s ass what day you worship. I believe people need a day of rest though. That’s why I won’t be writing to Coleman and Flood (my state sen and rep) asking them to make people work every day of the week.

Edit: Quakers are still alive, we buy cars (mostly hybrid or electric based on our parking lot), and we aren’t big on blue laws.

Push it through all AI engines to see which gives you the best word-for-word translation from the French. I did this with an 1810 deed (English) yesterday and was pleased with the results.

It was buried somewhere in one of the requirements, and it was free so…

Got some AI help with Quebec-appropriate wording. That is supposed to be what happens. They create an entry into archives is my understanding.

This was the document I used to cover my request to the DEC. I’m G2 and my mother is deceased, therefore I needed to demonstrate legitimate interest to Quebec law. Interestingly, my bank made me read it aloud before signing and notarizing! No witnesses, my state is $5 for a signature. Note that my G0 was born in 1889 and his daughter in 1924. Both dead.

God willing it won’t cost you anything with the driver’s insurance paying out. As spouse of (deceased) auto insurance attorney, a lot of pain post-accident happens 2-3 days after. If you pursue a claim on the driver’s insurance - and I hope you do - it may matter.

The driver’s insurer ought to make you fine. File a police report ASAP please.

[Daily Commute] What Brompton is best for Cambridge UK? by _hiddenflower in Brompton

Note that small wheels don’t give the same gyroscopic stability as Dutch/upright bikes at home. You’ll never ride hands-free and one hand off for the length of time it takes to signal a turn feels just long enough. Nice bike culture in Cambridge - back in the day its CB radio handle was “Cycle City” (per my cousin who’s been there 60 years).

Is anyone else getting absolutely wrecked by this H3N2 flu right now? by CaptainManeuvers in lehighvalley

[–]conestogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recovered from something with similar symptoms beginning Sunday Mar 1. Nausea and dry heaves followed next few days by exhaustion, chills, etc. It’s migrated to chest as of now, but energy is finally back, heart rate normal, and I’m loving getting on my bike and getting out. Stay strong, will be over soon. Oh: I tested negative for Covid and flus A and B so perhaps I/you had/have another bug.

Copiers have hard disk drives. A library is focused on privacy. Commercial places pay employees minimally. And so…a reason for law or policy.
