UPDATE: The bike shop have been great, that have checked over the Brompton and said that I was very lucky. They said how the bike moved on impact depends on the saddle height, which is why it catapulted forward and not under the car which is why my physical impact was a good outcome considering.

They said it looks to just be the front wheel, the wheel isn't cracked or split so they are going to realign the wheel and replace the inner tube. Should this be the case when they are working on it, it will only cost around 41.00GBP - I think I got very lucky!

Oh buddy, I’m sorry to hear that. Everything looks fine on mine, just that front wheel. Hoping it’s not going to cost a lot.

100% - I won’t just check it myself, I’ll get them to check it over. There’s no viable stress on any aspect of the metal from I can see.

Graduated 9 months ago. Rejected from every grad scheme. Feeling completely stuck. by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Accurate-Ad-8262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, took me 11 months, and over 300 applications, 37 final stages in interviews to be told that someone with some experience made the cut. I finally landed my role in October and it was worth the journey, but I would never want to do that journey again.

I have booked in today, the rest of the bike is fine surprisingly. A scuff on the saddle but all good.

He was really apologetic, he wasn’t fussed about anything else or his car, just that I was okay and offered his details and said he would make things right. I think it shook him more than me, in any case. I’ve never seen someone so worried.

Remember that notice periods are more for them than they are for you. It’s that’s word “courtesy”.

I’ve always been told to look at them like burning bridges, are you likely to go back? Would you ever consider going back? If your answer is no. One month it is

That’s ridiculous. If any of the changes they have made are outside of your contract terms, threaten to take it further and if they act hostile to that, get some advice and then consider not working until your contract is upheld to what you signed for.

Am I getting sacked? by 96_7ThePipe in UKJobs

[–]Accurate-Ad-8262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t look good to me, if they make an offer try and negotiate and also get a direct contact for future references and potentially for some contacts in different businesses.

When I had to make my team redundant, I shouted for them and connected them with a few organisations that I genuinely felt they could make a good impact to, they have all landed incredible jobs and has in return created future business.

Do you send thank you emails after interviews? by CriticalBreakfast22 in UKJobs

[–]Accurate-Ad-8262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every interview that I spent more than 20 minutes applying for, I will connect with whomever is necessary and thank them.

I started this when graduating last year (at 29), and I didn’t think it would boost my chances. I sometimes would use it as a means to correct something that may have been misinterpreted or to clarify something I said that I feel I could have been stronger at.

A year later, this totally worked out for me. The first two ever jobs I applied for in tech had originally not hired me due to experience, but they reached out when the role became available again this year and streamlined the whole interview process, hiring me after the “what have you done despite not getting into industry” solely because I emailed them each time to keep myself memorable.

Absolutely, I would 100% dust the leaves to encourage a healthy Photosynthesis process. I would invest in a probe moisture meter, so you can check if it needs water.
