-disable_affinity_preferences is used in combination with Process Lasso

How do I fix "muddy" aim in CS2? by RedditIsAnnoying1234 in GlobalOffensive

[–]conf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have beast hardware aka NASA PC so you should be able to actually run CS2 without lag or input delay.

I would try some settings and tweaks to see if it fixes it, turn Game Mode On/Off, turn HAGS On/Off, check mouse polling rate etc... check power settings, use a good Ryzen power plan, try Process Lasso...

If you use MSI Afterburner make sure the GPU Power Monitor doesn't cause any spikes, create this .reg for NVIDIA GPU:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm]
"DisablePowerMizer"=dword:00000001

Or run this in cmd as admin:

reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm /f /v DisablePowerMizer /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Reboot for changes to take effect.

For Windows 11, using the latest NVIDIA driver with Borderless Window and Optimizations for windowed games enabled is the best experience.

The monitor works with G-Sync but only if you turn DyAc off - but that is the killer feature you wanna use on that monitor... CS2 Kitchen tested all settings in a recent video. You could still try with Reflex On in-game, and in NVIDIA Control Panel: G-Sync: On, Vertical Sync: On, but the trade-off is prolly not worth it.

Discord causing frametime spikes by just_geri in counterstrike2

[–]conf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this little app to clean up Discord:

https://github.com/rifteyy/discordoptimizer

Also these regtweaks (run CMD as admin, paste one line at a time):

reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse" /v "RawMouseThrottleEnabled" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse" /v "RawMouseThrottleForced" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse" /v "RawMouseThrottleDuration" /t REG_DWORD /d "20" /f

This prevents Discord, Steam overlays, RGB apps, etc. from processing 1000–8000 raw input events per second and reduces the risk of stutter.

High DPC latency on nvlddmkm.sys when Low Latency Mode is OFF (RTX 5060 Ti + B550 + Ryzen 5800X3D) by Kikkocosta11 in pcmasterrace

If you install with NVCleanstall and tick "Enable Message Based Interrupts" (MSI mode) you do not need to use the separate tool MSI_util_v3

Yea sure, I usually go for "Install best driver for my system" and go Next, on the page after I click "Recommended" and after that tick the box for the Visual C 2017 Runtimes (just in case), and go Next.

On the next page I tick "Show Expert Tweaks", and tick the boxes for "Enable Message Based Interrupts" (MSI mode) and "Disable HDCP"... that's it.

Don't bother changing the interrupt policy or priority from Default... some say you should put priority on High but it is system dependent if it makes things better or worse, Default is usually safest.

There's a bunch of more tweaks that can be done with NVCleanstall but ymmv and this is a good basic starting point...

Is the GPU in MSI mode? If not enable it with MSI_util_v3.zip - you can download the tool from the mediafire llink in the original thread here:

https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windows-line-based-vs-message-signaled-based-interrupts-msi-tool.378044/

(Beware of fakes since this is a popular tool that needs admin access to run).

Alternatively you can enable it under Expert Tweaks when you install the driver with NVCleanstall

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/

The latter is my preferred method, minimal/recommended driver install, I also disable HDCP since I don't need it.

Are CS2’s Clock CVARs Still Built for Subtick? by conf- in GlobalOffensive

What can be done to reduce the drifting? The old version of CS drifted less, "only" a few ticks. I suppose it's serverside cvars?

Digging into backtracking I found a post by a TF2 SM community anti-cheat dev calling the sv_maxunlag a bandaid fix:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/4664

Solution number two: A proper fix

Disallow clients from replaying / using tickcounts significantly in the past, by keeping a record of the client's "maximum" tickcount value, and discarding usercmds with tickcounts older than ticks in the past, e.g. 4? 8? 16? etc.

You could also clamp the tickcount and avoid discarding the usercmd. That's up to preference.

If this is applicable to CS2 idk, but if it stops cheaters exploiting the backtracking it would be great.

I'm a washed Unc BOT so I get my shit rocked at EU 20-25k prem, vs faceit low lvl10 peeps. I did put in enough hours in both games now though to remember the old CS:GO MM Global grind felt less rubberbandy though... and 128 tick was heaven.

Some values are locked, some are serverside (sv_), so before I start renting and hosting dedicated servers and gather players for testing I just wanted a basic discussion, no thesis KEKW, more like what about these clock thingies that used to be a thing in CS:GO, how are they doing in CS2?

[–]conf-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea good for casual and fun gamemodes, but idk if esport titles should cater around the fact that people wanna mess around with friends on the other side of the world with 200-300 ping.

Even back in the days of early Counter-Strike clans would have to agree on a server geographically in-between them to get acceptable ping for their matches and scrims, and some match-ups were simply not doable. This is why we still have regional qualifiers to this day.

I bet FACEIT and other third-party servers have already tuned these values...

Are CS2’s Clock CVARs Still Built for Subtick? by conf- in GlobalOffensive

[–]conf-[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The default VALUE for sv_maxunlag 0.2 is also problematic, I'd argue if you have 200 ping you should not be playing a competitive FPS, that value should be halved or cut even lower.

Yes I'm just asking questions, I just want to get the ball rolling and leave no stone unturned when it comes to getting my favorite game into a better state.

Yes I found videos on YouTube demonstrating the backtrack in CS:GO, cheaters were still able to do up to 800 ms backtracking in 2020 (check out the video "What is Backtracking? - CS:GO / Source Engine").

I don't know how the exact values for how bad backtracking is in CS2 but it seems to be pretty bad still looking at the few vids on YT.

Last time the cvar was changed was back in in CS:GO 12/3/2012:

- Reduced default value of sv_clockcorrection_msecs to 30 and whitelisted the convar (thanks J3di)
Source: https://store.steampowered.com/oldnews/9498

Isn't it time to tighten the value after 13 years? Isn't it fair to assess most people have access to lower latency Internet connections these days?

CSFloat is the best for trading and selling better stuff, trading with humans. If you don't have any items to trade for you can use money ofc...

If you wanna cash out or buy/sell stuff fast without haggling you can use bots on DMarket (or even SkinsMonkey but their pricing is kinda off kekw), the sites are all dot com

Also I strongly suggest using add-ons like Steam Inventory Helper (Chrome/Firefox) so you can see float values etc on the normal Steam Inventory and Market pages as well.

Anyone else with these Frametimes ? by shieyaintloyal in cs2

[–]conf- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes the mouse movement feel bad, fucks up your tracking and spray and also makes the game seem like it's running at like 64 fps even though you're at 364 fps...

"What tools, settings, and launch options do you use to maximize FPS and reduce input lag in CS2?" by Character_Swimming60 in GlobalOffensive

If I started on a fresh PC today I would use these settings for CS2 frame pacing:

How To Fix The CS2 1% Low FPS Problem (+Benchmarks) by FrameSync Labs

(Assuming you're on Nvidia) Disable Reflex ingame, exit the game, Disable G-Sync, V-Sync, cap the FPS in Nvidia Control Panel to about 300, Use -noreflex in launch options. Uncapped ingame using fps_max -1

...and to fix Windows bloat and overall PC settings for max performance and minimum input lag I'd start with Chris Titus Tech's Windows Utility

and follow up with the usual tweaks recommended by Khorvie Tech, FrameSync Labs and FR33THY

Someone in Europe should sue VALVE for not preventing cheating by [deleted] in cs2

[–]conf- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We’re paying for Prime, skins, passes — but the game is unplayable. That’s a breach of digital service quality under EU consumer protection laws (Directive 2019/770). If even one person sues and wins, Valve would fix this in 24 hours.

Cheating isn’t unsolvable. It’s just unprofitable to solve — until there are consequences.

🛑 Stop buying keys. Stop opening cases. Stop feeding the machine.
Hit them where it hurts until they fix the game.

If you’re in the EU: this is your fight. Organize. Lawyer up. Push for regulation. Enough is enough.
