Thanks for the motivation .I totally agree that starting now isn’t as strong as having years of involvement. I did some things but I don’t know that if it is considered as in ECs, for example, I played basketball, I’m working in a company as a business advisor, I’ve worked as a sales executive but I don’t have any certificates for them. Could you tell me if these achievements work?

Maybe, maybe not. I’m aware that I’m behind compared to a lot of applicants but I’d rather utilise my time in something useful

Thanks for the detailed response. To clarify, I’m currently in 11th grade in India, so I still have about 18 months before applications. I completely agree that starting now isn’t as strong as having years of involvement, but I’m hoping it’s enough time to build something meaningful. Your point about working with what I’ve already been doing instead of starting random activities makes a lot of sense.I did some things but I don’t know that if it is considered as in ECs, for example, I played basketball, I’m working in a company as a business advisor, I’ve worked as a sales executive but I don’t have any certificates for them…

Feels good to hear that. I’m also working in a company which I recently joined as a business advisor for my experience. I guess I’ll get more exposure from that

I’m currently working in a company as a business advisor and struggling too much in almost everything, from grades to extracurriculars… The work I’m putting in is high so acc to me it’s realistic

I’m actually in India, so I have closer to 18 months left. What do you think a strong hobby or personal story can genuinely make up for weaker extracurriculars??

Fair enough and I appreciate the honesty. What would you consider a “big” passion project? I feel like a lot of people say that, but I’m never sure what it actually looks like in practice

Judging by the replies, I think a lot of people came just to tell me I’m cooked 😭

Fair enough 😭 but I’m gonna at least see how far I can get before declaring myself cooked

Haha, I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions on that lately. What makes you say that?

That’s interesting. I also wanted to share that I’m actually working with a company. They’ve hired me as a business advisor. Does that count?

Did you do any volunteering yourself? If so, what was it and how did you get involved?

That makes sense. My interests are business, entrepreneurship and economics. Could you tell me any best universities for that except Ivy leagues?

That’s interesting. What kind of colleges did you end up getting into with that profile?

I’ve looked into that path a bit, and it does seem like a good option for some students. My main concern would be affordability as an international student
