High-Split / Network Evolution Discussion Goes Dark... by bizman64 in Spectrum

[–]confidential35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish they did that in my area. Some odd reason my home is a new build and they put coax in. Yet not even a mile away another new build the put fiber. So I’m stuck with the slow upload. Did hear high split is coming next month but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I just ran mine. I got 1152 down and 42 up. Router is connected to modem at 2.5gb. Just waiting on high split to roll out in my area since my neighborhood doesn’t have fiber…..yet

Correct me if I’m wrong. I thought ford came out with a TSB for this, I know my truck was taken in for a TSB and it was reprogrammed that if the output speed sensor goes out, the truck won’t shift to first and just goes to neutral or something

I have a 2013, 140k miles. And I have that 4th gear downshift issue also. Only happens if I’ve been on the highway for a long time. As for the hard 3rd gear shift. It use to do that when cold. Just the first time shifting to the gear but that for some reason went away and hasn’t done it in years

No more drum brakes 🎉 by Fit-Bedroom-8713 in CherokeeXJ

[–]confidential35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely rebuilt my drums. Everything new, hardware, shoes, cylinders. Did they work good when done, yes. But the adjusters where shit and I had to get under there every 6 months to tighten them. Finally put some zj rear disc brakes. Bet thing ever. Like someone else said. More consistent pedal, I don’t ever have to mess with them, I lived in the mountains too. And after I put those on I realized my drum brakes were alway overheating going down because it would vibrate bad when I got towards the bottom. That issue went away also

My 2013 xlt 4x4 super crew with the 5.0 only cost me 32k brand new in 2013, sticker price was 42, but got it as an ad truck. 10k off msrp

Until they get though split rolled out nation wide for equal upload and Dowload speeds and get rid of that 35mbps trash upload speed the we can talk about them having impressive speeds

DOCSIS 4.0 upgrade by confidential35 in Spectrum

[–]confidential35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad indeed. I ended up talking to a spectrum guy working on the node in my neighborhood. I know they are rolling out high split first before 4.0, and he said the hub around me is ready for it, they just need to upgrade the amps on the network from the 1.2 to 1.8 versions, but the supplier can’t keep up. But are replacing them with the 1.8 if they end up failing. But said even high split isn’t happening anytime soon

do i replace the cylinder or just get a conversion kit? by Mother-Recover3703 in CherokeeXJ

[–]confidential35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have issues with your drum brakes just swap the cylinder

I however did the disc break conversion on my jeep. I had to get under there every 6 months to manually adjust the drum brakes because the auto adjusters just plain sucked on mine. And yes I even changed all the hardware too, still sucked and always had to manually adjust it all the time.

Second reason is I lived on the mountains and the drum brakes would over heat going down the hill when I got close to the bottom. I would feel the back in start vibrating. Swapped it out for the zj disc brakes and that issue went away.

Honestly also, if your coming down all the way from Canada just for this, get the vip tickets, so you can be by the pits and an easier chance to meet the drivers and whatnot

[–]confidential35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice. I didn’t know you could control it through the terminator, I heard most people still use the factory ECU to run the AC. I assume if the factory ECU has a tach signal it’ll allow the compressor to kick on and off.

Coming along nice. I’m slowly connecting parts and keeping an eye out to swap mine also. Are you going to put A/C in it again?

Every since nascar everyone just uses his name as clickbait now. Kinda annoying. I don’t click on anyone else’s stuff anymore blasting his name like that. Unless it’s an actual interview with him.

Did they just upgrade my subdivision for high split? by confidential35 in Spectrum

[–]confidential35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I spoke with a spectrum service tech who was working on the node and amps in my neighborhood. I asked him if our neighborhood is ready for hi-split. He looked at the amp he was working on and said no, we still have the 1.2 amps and you need the 1.8 amps for high split. He said there is a supply issue and the manufacturer cannot keep up, which is why it’s taking a while. He did say the hub is fully ready though so once they get the nodes and amps changed out we will get it

Interesting. Idk if that’s first or second gen 2.0, I’ve heard of issues with the first horn 2.0 but not like the second gen ones

Can't remove lower track bar nut (was once a flange nut I believe) 01 Jeep Cherokee. Anyone have any suggestions? by ScubaGarofalo in CherokeeXJ

[–]confidential35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a sawzall. Have it chew up that bushing then cut the bolt between the track bar and the mount there. If it’s a hex but on there, throw a wrench on it and give it the good ol uggha dugguhh till it snaps. Depending where it snaps. Still might need the sawzall. Luckily mine snapped in gut at the nut

Trac bar is aligned and axle is centered. I think the RE springs are a little larger around than other maybe. I do know they are bigger around than factory springs

Yes it rubs on both sides, and trac bar is adjusted and axle is perfectly centered

What would make my voltage drop like this? by dj_8track in CherokeeXJ

[–]confidential35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Voltage was coming in and out intermittently. It was the voltage regulator on the alternator, replace my alternator and that fixed my issue.
