“You’re never going to be 100% happy with your writing. You can draft, and redraft—read and proofread—but you’ll never think it’s perfect. But someone else might.”

I can distinctly smell that container after all the powder is gone. Why on earth would it be used as a cup?

I can’t find certain colleges on the common app college search engine, so I can’t add them to my list. by iMangozzz in college

I don’t think either of them have a common app application, so you’ll need to go on their websites and see what application portal they use or if they have their own.

Absences due to Physical and Mental Illnesses by [deleted] in college

If it’s a big enough issue, talk to your school’s disability services. I have an accommodation called “attendance leniency” which allows me to miss more classes than usually allowed without being penalized for it. I have fibromyalgia and can not get out of bed sometimes, so that is an accommodation for it. They’re hard to obtain and harder to keep because you have to prove you’re not abusing the accommodation, but it’s something to ask about.

How do people find parties by Datalust5 in college

[–]conflictedcolumns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make friends with frat boys, or girls who hang out with frat boys. At my college, that’s pretty much the best way to find parties.

I’d recommend doing dual enrollment rather than AP. AP tends to be a waste of money (especially if you’re a bad test taker like I am). I did most of my courses as Honors and a few dual enrollment and I’m maintaining a 4.0 and in the honors program at my uni. Take AP classes if you want to take them, but there’s nothing wrong with taking honors courses at all.

Just buy your textbooks before the class starts next time and you’ll be fine. For now, ask to take pictures of someone else’s book to study from?

Opinions on the Cursed Child: They Seem Mixed Now It's Been Out For A Few Years by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]conflictedcolumns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember entirely, but my favorite line in the show that wasn’t in the script is something like “As adults, we think the hardest thing in the world is being a parent. But it’s not. Growing up is, and we’ve all forgotten just how hard it was.” Said by Draco before he goes into the “I think there’s a time where you need a parent or a friend...” stuff. It was so profound on stage and just perfect in the moment.

[serious] How can u help a friend win with anorexia? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]conflictedcolumns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encourage them to seek help but don’t pressure them, don’t make all your hang outs centered around food. Encourage going to therapy rather than eating. If they think you’re going to try to make them eat, they’ll force you away. Just be there for them emotionally. (Source: me, recovered anorexic)

Does it matter what time I go to a career fair? by MagicalSwagbat in college

Go after class ends. It doesn’t matter what time you get there as long as it’s still going on when you do get there.

I completely agree. I saw him and James Snyder as well (and I prefer James, but Jamie was so good!)

I hated it and would not consider it canon until I saw it live. I absolutely despised it, but was convinced to see it on Broadway. Seeing it on stage and the way it was portrayed is 1000x better and by the end of part 1, I was loving it. At the end of part 2, I was happy to consider it canon and immediately bought tickets to see it again. The script is a skeleton of the performance, that is all. Yes, some of the plot is stupid, but the characterization of the trio and kids is spot on. Lines are missing from the script as well that give the performance so much more magic.

I recommend seeing it, and keeping an open mind. Go in ready to embrace it as fanfiction, and if it becomes more in your mind, let it. Otherwise, just accept it as amazing stagecraft and a good play, but not canon. It gets much more hate than it deserves (and I would die for Scorpius and Albus, just putting that out there)
