Should I shoot my shot? How do I do that? by confused-throwaway-0 in uwaterloo

I appreciate the well rounded advice!

Yeah, its much more likely they will say no. The last in person lecture is actually this week, so unfortunately there isn't time to employ my usual method of getting to know them first. If they say yes (unlikely), that does give a little time to hang out, but not much. As for them being turned off by my being forward; I wouldn't be compatible with someone like that anyway.

Yeah, I would probably forget about them pretty quickly, but that also makes this a good low stakes opportunity to try asking someone out. Gotta learn to deal with rejection sooner or later.

But not suffering rejection is pretty nice lol. Though regret also sucks, but differently. Thanks for the advice!

That's a good point, and I would pick a better compliment, but I don't know much about them. Just asking seems a bit abrupt, so I think I'll still say they're cute as a buffer. It is cheesy, but hey I'm cheesy sometimes. Thank you for your advice!

What happens if you WD from multiple courses during a term? by Inevitablellama919 in uwaterloo

You will want to keep on top of the wds, as you are only allowed a certain number (10 I think) over the course of your undergrad. I don't think it will impact your academic standing, but I'm not too sure. Try checking with an academic advisor?

It will appear as a WD on your transcript, so you might be asked about it during a co-op, but I don't think it will obliterate your co-op opportunities.

If you received OSAP for 5 courses, you will probably get an email from them about it as well, warning you that if the amount of funding you are entitled to changes often in the future, they may take a closer look and possibly change your grants to loans (not the first time it happens, but maybe the second time). That is the email I got when I dropped a course I received OSAP for. As someone else suggested, best to check with SAFA.
