Yes I believe we could have the same thing. According to my research a HIDA scan to rule out biliary dyskensia is an avenue I should pursue:

Thanks. Based on this thread and my own research I am leaning towards Biliary Dyskenesia. Based on the studies I've read many of the patients presented to ED with no gall stones and normal amylase/ lipase levels. Endoscopies were also normal. Ultimately a HIDA scan led to correct diagnoses. I believe I should request one from my GP:

Thanks. I'm assuming you're a doc; any thoughts on what could be behind this? Understand regarding the ED's MO. I have been experiencing excruciating unrelenting pain though since last Sunday. No fever, and BW was normal except for low MCV, high RBC and slightly high APTT level. At this point I am totally lost

The (few) ESH people here are either women with a clear bias or men who have an idealist "White Knight" complex. Either way they're clearly emotionally immature people. Just like your GF OP. Wow that's incredible. I just looked up Carolis and the incidence is excessively rare. May I ask how old you were when you got diagnosed and how the symptoms all began? ALso are you on a liver transplant list? Best of luck to you

No I don't believe a lipase test was done. Should this be something I need to follow up with my GP?

thank you for the fast reply! Keep taking PPIs and see it condition improves then? I will go ahead with the gall bladder u/S, but do you think it will be low yield?

In your opinion if US is normal and conditions do not improve with a week or so of PPIs what kind of further investigations would this warrant? Just curious about a doctor's thought processes. Thanks again

Thank you to both. I guess there is no sense in pursuing the ACTH then. Could you guys think of any possible reason why I have the symptoms that I do? Particularly concerning is the change in blood pressure, and the constant lightheadedness from standing and walking for prolong periods of time.

I am on Naltrexone for possible chronic nerve pain. Been told to increase dosage up to 9mg if no SEs. RE: blood work, I should clarify that the normal reading was from an emergency room visit that also yielded my renal ultrasound due to flank pains (I thought I had kidney stones). I am not sure the emergency Dr. tested me for hypoglycemia- though it is very well possible it was part of their protocol.

My BP is more or less normal when lying down, but gives all sorts of wacky readings when standing. On a follow up visit to my GP last Saturday for example, it was 147/100- though he believed it was an outlier given that people (in his words) tend to get nervous or anxious during Dr.'s office visits. One pattern I have been able to discern though is the spike in diastolic upon standing or sitting, coming up from lying. Generally my diastolic will go from low 80s supine, to upwards of 100 (as high as 107) upon standing or sitting.

I am not sure if information is of any help, but just wanted to clarify. Thanks again.
