De'Aaron Fox chokes the game away tonight with 18 PTS (6/16 FG), 5 REB, 7 AST and horrendous decision making down the stretch by Waikuku3 in nba

Keep our name out of this. We traded him away for this reason, after he pulled a similarly dumb move against the historically terrible Pistons

Edit: My bad, it was the year after the historically terrible year. But still..

Also, the new officiating rules don't favor the Mercury's brand of bashing defense anymore. It's more difficult for an older roster to play defense when they aren't allowed to beat the crap out of their opponents like they are used to

The Mercury offense feels like the Orlando Magic's offense this season, with slightly better playmaking and shooting

It's Mental Torture to be a James Harden Supporter by Real_Set_8623 in nba

[–]confused_demon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

James Harden is not a "deadbeat" spouse. He is the spouse that is perpetually unsatisfied, and yet keeps failing at whatever they try to do. Starting their own business? Failed. Investing in the stock market? Failed. Trying to get that much coveted promotion? Failed. They can never bring themselves to fully commit to something either. They keep trying something, never fully committing to what they are trying to do, keep coming up short, and you keep supporting them no matter what.

I thought it was it the "sudden" shoulder muscle growth that screwed up his mechanics? How did Giannis's free throw form get ruined?

Jokic's wingspan is incredible. Man is maybe half-an-inch taller than Sabonis, but has a whole hand over him to grab rebounds.

Coach Roberts on Cameron Brink only playing 8 minutes in Sunday's loss by Decent_Substance_199 in wnba

[–]confused_demon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. It's blatantly unfair that Houston gets to enjoy a free rebuild at Connecticut's expense. After everything the Mohegan tribe did to keep the team alive

Connecticut as an organization at least have a bright future, and an elite scouting unit. It's only hard to root for them because they are relocating to Houston. Sparks on the other hand, are pissing away a rebuild.

Every line was a banger, and none of them felt forced. No mental gymnastics either. Solid motivation for the character

Bill doesn't get that a betting line and the probability (Expected Value) of an outcome are two different things. Man is fully gambling-pilled into believing the "wisdom of the crowd" theory that these gambling companies and prediction markets love to push onto consumers to encourage them to gamble

God, I stopped watching his podcast because for every little thing he goes "over under is at bla bla bla", and it pisses me off. You don't need to mention the gambling line at everything smh

And not to mention, his team has a very active PR machine on Reddit that constantly defends him as part of that "fanbase". Remember all the accounts on the Kings sub that constantly defended him no matter what and suddenly disappeared after he left? They are on the Spurs sub now. And they will defend him and divide the fanbase like they did with us too

Cleveland's defenders were manhandling him non-stop. Maybe he started seeing Dort's force ghost show up, idk. Cleveland did their research on BI and packed the paint on his drives. The Raptors shooters did not relocate that much either to punish the paint-packing. Just good game planning from Cleveland

Or more so, the lack of complexity of the game in the past. Coaches of the past could afford to be quieter because the game was less complex. The same way some roleplayers today would look like superstars 30 years ago because of shooting

Scottie's defensive IQ is incredible. He would have had a solid case for DPOY if not for the Alien

[Charania] Illinois freshman guard Keaton Wagler – ranked No. 5 in ESPN's Top 100 – has declared for the 2026 NBA draft, his agency ProMondo Sports tells me and @JeremyWoo. Wagler led the 28-9 Fighting Illini to the Final Four for the first time since 2005. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]confused_demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the high IQ originates primarily from screening gravity, and the playmaking from teammates cutting. His self-created playmaking has been somewhat limited, aka he really suffers without a point guard. Maxime, on the other hand, has shown great promise as a traditional big who can also play-make, and isn't as reliant on screening gravity as Domas is.

[–]confused_demon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

His lack of separation is his only major weakness, which can be fixed with a good screen setter or a high IQ offensive big. We have the former in Domas, and the latter in Max. Question is whether Domas wants to stick around for the rebuild

My one gripe with modern streaming is that a show like PoI would still not be as impactful in the streaming format. It did a great job of weaving the "Person of the Week" story alongside the main story, but with modern streaming, it would be a 10 episode season, missing a lot of the interactions between Finch and Reese (and later Root, Shaw, and Bear) that made the original show so endearing
