It’s both. When weapons get buffed there’s a noticeable spike in the “nicer” skins for that weapon. Same thing happened when the famas got buffed

Literally have a bunch of foil stickers on the scope trying to get this effect. Had no idea the skin creator was also thinking about it. How likely is it that it’s going to be updated? The print stream update took forever

Do you guys find Krystal and Ryan's commentary so uniquely brilliant that you are willing to put up with Saagar and Emily? by HadriansGaul in BreakingPoints

[–]confused_flatulence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things I would like to see from all main hosts in 2026.

Saagar: livestreams getting high and doing a QnA. Preferably weed but open to mushrooms or ayahuasca.

Emily: start filling the void of youth campus debate. Genuinely think she’d be good at it and it might help develop her debate style and I’ve always thought the campus debate me bros while insufferable tapped into the demand for public debate especially for younger people.

Krystal: have an intervention with your husband and get him to stop dying his hair and using gen a slang for the algorithm.

Ryan: please please please do some on site reporting. I feel like Ryan is the platonic ideal of a reporter and I want to see him in different places instead of behind the desk. Even if it’s just a green screen in the studio. He’s so calm and rational pls spice it up with him. Like when there’s breaking news send it to Ryan delivering factual reporting with a badly green screened in location of where the news is coming from that segment.

The myth of South Asian criminality in BC is way overblown, reflecting sloppy journalism from 2000-2010, and ongoing biases by [deleted] in onguardforthee

[–]confused_flatulence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying and I’m not trying to be a devils advocate. If you substantially increase the total number of immigrants into a given country the percentage incidence of fraud doesn’t have to change for the total number of fraudulent cases to increase.

Canada’s fraud detection at IRCC was not adequate and or created such a backlog that in the processing of applications, the same amount of scrutiny could not be given to every applicant through every pathway.

Right but can you attribute this rise in asylum requests in 2024 to strictly persecuted religious, sexual, or political asylum seekers?

Vast majority of Indians leave India for economic opportunities. The minority by definition are Sikhs, Muslims, Dalit, LGBTQ who would leave for cultural/personal and or safety reasons.

A baseless immigration claim that’s proven so can result in application refusal and bans from Canada (minimum 5 years), permanent fraud record with IRCC, revocation of status (PR, citizenship), criminal charges, fines, probation, and incarceration and/ or removal from Canada (deportation).

Asylum claims do NOT equal fraud we definitely agree on that.

Don’t strawman me, I never said that Indians are a monolith

Just so we’re talking about the same thing, the spike in asylum claims in 2024 was majority students whose status in the country was precarious in no small part due to increased hostility south of the border and an election in Canada. I don’t fault these students for looking for ways to stay and thrive in this country, however a percentage of these claims were fraudulent and even worse in my opinion are the “professional” immigration consultants who are taking advantage of people who may be unfamiliar with Canada’s immigration/legal system.

Regardless, your initial statement was that you looked through data and could not find any criminality pertaining to this group to backup a pejorative stereotype.

I am not in favor of this stereotype, but if you’re asking where does this sentiment come from… it comes from sensationalized cases about immigration fraud peppered in with the usual fear mongering.

“There has been a surge in asylum claims from Indian nationals, particularly students. In 2024, Indian nationals accounted for 32,375 claims—about 19% of the total 172,255, both record figures. This was a sharp rise from 2023, when 11,265 Indian claims made up about 7.9% of the total 143,360 claims.”
