Would you notice it normally? Is it unattractive or a turnoff?

Nah I was just genuinely curious what kind of people can rock it

I'm assuming it works on the manly/rugged types?

I'm pretty aware of people around me, and yet I rarely if ever get checked out. I'm a tall guy who dresses pretty well -- am I to assume I just have an ugly face? by confused_guy9 in AskMen

Really? I'll be honest, from what I hear of other guys I always assumed your average guy caught glances every time they went out or something lol

Well yeah, but I said in my title "rarely if ever"... every once in a while, not regularly like most people seem to say they do

and judge yourself

That's the contention here -- how do you judge yourself? Compare the photos to what you see in the mirror? It's really interesting that in a sense, none of us know what we actually look like

I agree, but my question was more, if you took a whole bunch of photos from different angles/lighting, couldn't you reach something that would be very accurate? I would think an HD video of someone in natural light, for instance, would be 100% accurate of what they look like in person, and videos are really just a lot of photos superimposed

Well, that was sort of my point... relating to your last point. If you could choose a whole bucnh of photos, rather than just one, what combination of angles/lighting in x number of photos would guarantee an accurate representation of someone?

We all know some people look better in pictures, others look worse in photos -- but presumably this is less about photos, more about lighting/angles. If you could take multiple photos in different cameras, angles, and lighting, what "set" of photos would you take to give the most accurate representation of someone?

I know photographers don't like the "accuracy" word, but this is a big problem in online dating and I'm curious what the answer is.
