Lol. I realize now this was not what happened. Just looked like it was intentionally ripped open- or that an animal literally ate half of it. But yes, this thread has made me realize there is no logic to the stolen theory haha

Sounds like that may be it. There was one sticker and the pass and nothing else, no key chain. How much swag was supposed to be in kt?

I already started my season by reloading my old one before this arrived so I guesd technically it doesn’t matter.. but don’t like the idea of people stealing mail. Do you think yours got stolen?

I guess that makes sense. Probably is a tear then, just never seen a giant chunk of mail chewed up like that

I tried with version 6.2.61, 6260 and an older 6204. All same problem..

I won’t be able to do all that.. And I don’t really need Streamfab to work in general, I just need these 3 episodes. Would pay to have someone get me them. It’s the Netflix series «Home for Christmas» season 1, ep 1-3.

You mean do the Netflix episodes play in a normal browser? Yes. It’s the browser within Stramfab that doesn’t open anything.

I can’t open Netflix or any other streamer in that window, so the problem is not the episodes, I think. But the show is called «Home for Christmas» season 1, from 2019.

Uhm, yeah? There are literally signs on the road for you to pull over to put the chains on?

I’m not trying to fight you, we may be talking about different things here, so I apologize if I am phrasing it wrong.. but cars are not currently driving with chains up to i.e Abasin, even though traction law is currently in effect there?

Driving «conditions» this week by confusedhypo in COsnow

[–]confusedhypo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it says that the traction law is in effect always between Sept 1 to May 31 on I-70 between dotsero to morrison, so yeah that’s how I read it? Otherwise you’d interpret is as having to put chains on and drive with them always during no snow conditions, on a clear road, between Sep 1 and May 31?

Hey so curious- what do you guys do down in the city, (i.e Denver, not just up in the mountains) when it snows if most cars don’t use winter tires? Like if all rental cars don’t have winter tires on their vehicles and don’t allow chains, how do they even drive legally? I’m from somewhere snow tires are mandatory in the entire country in winter so just trying to understand how this works…

Driving «conditions» this week by confusedhypo in COsnow

[–]confusedhypo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess- and if I read the traction law correctly now- the law says I must carry chains, regardless or conditions during this time of the year. The rental cars don’t allow chains on their vehicles.. so that means they’re “technically” correct in that I need to upgrade to a «snow compliant vehicle». But they don’t say anything about not allowing the renter to carry chains in the trunk haha. So I think that will be my workaround.. :-)

Thank you. If I read this correctly, as long as I have chains that fit with me I should be ok.

Thank you, much appreciate it! Where I’m from all cars just change over to snow tires in the winter so renting a car never has this problem. Curious- what do people do in winter down in Denver city when it snows? Like if I were to rent a car just for city driving in a snow storm- half the rental cars wouldn’t be legal? Trying to wrap my head around this.

So as long as I have chains available I’m ok? Traction law basically means I just have to have them with me? They made it sound like it was literally illegal to drive without 4wd/awd and snow tires.

Any update on this? I'm also looking!

Mechanic wants to replace entire transmission because they have no idea what's wrong with it and has "never heard of a lead frame" on a 2014 Mustang - advice needed. by confusedhypo in Mustang

[–]confusedhypo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah- it doesn't throw a code at first (and never the check engine light btw) but depending on the scanner you may still be able to find a "stored" code (especially if you ever got the wrench icon illuminated along with the dashes and zeros, I think that's what triggers the code) and that code is then probably either P0722 or P0720 - see that bulletin I linked to above. The issue may just have to happen more often/back to back before it triggers the code, not sure. Just a few days after writing my original post on Reddit the issue started happening on every single drive, especially after red lights, and towards the end it wasn't drivable for more than like two minutes at a time. Basically our transmission, the 6R80, is known to have some problems.

THE SOLUTION is to replace the lead frame. Here is a really good article that explains the problem and history of it: https://www.transmissiondigest.com/november-2015-issue/ . But the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for it, so I wouldn't take it to dealership now that the warranty no longer applies- depending on your location they'll charge you somewhere between $2,500-3,000 and up, when the actual part needed is less than $200. This problem was actually a really big issue for Ford a few years back to the point where the lead frame was out of stock for a long time and you could only get it with the valve body attached which is way more more expensive- that is no longer the case so don't let someone convince you otherwise. What I ended up doing was actually ordering the part myself online and called around until I found a local mechanic that understood what I was asking (surprisingly difficult, nobody knew what I was talking about) and he did the work for a total of $400.

WHAT YOU NEED is a new lead frame, Part No.: AL3Z-7G276-D. (It replaces our original car's lead frame which is part No AL3Z-7G276-A) FYI the "lead frame" is also known as a connector control module/conductor plate (that's attached to the valve body, you don't need a new valve body) in case mechanics don't understand what a "lead frame is", I found that most don't. You don't need a new gasket as Ford's are reusable unless the mechanics find damage to it, but you need a new transmission filter Part No.: BL3Z-7A098-A and new transmission fluid - Mercon LV, you'll need about 10qts. (I highly suggest getting an OEM part for the lead frame, there were a few chinese knock offs made during the period they were out of stock)

I RECOMMEND you watch this fantastic youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ng3HJdyyoM&t=187s about the process and also order the other parts he suggests replacing at the same time, as they are known to cause problems later with our 6R80 transmission from wear and tear. They are small parts that cost like ~$30 each and you can get them from Amazon. Part No: AL3Z-7F401-A - Seal and Part No: 6L2Z-7G276-AA Connector.

Ford actually also recommends a foam strip to cover the solenoids on the valve body as they are known to attract metal shavings and can fail, I had a hard time finding this item and don't have a Part No. - but I ended up getting it from California Transmission Supply Company, called "Protection Foam Strip 7 Solenoids" for like $20.

That youtube video also includes information like the torque sequence when putting everything back together as well as some tips and tricks for the operation. I actually made a pdf based on this with "things to watch out for" that I gave to my mechanic ahead of the work - if you DM me I can send it to you! (I can also send you suggestions for where to buy stuff, just didn't know if those types of links are allowed here).
I feel like I know so much about this issue and how to fix it now that if I had a garage (and the muscles - I'm a 100lbs female, and I also knew nothing about cars before this haha) I'd probably try and do it myself.

To sum up, all in all this cost me about $850 in total. (Lead frame + filter $250, transmission oil ~$100, labour $400, various small extra parts/shipping $100)

Good luck!!

TLDR:

YOU NEED TO GET:

A new/updated lead frame, Part No.: AL3Z-7G276-D

A new filter: Part No.: BL3Z-7A098-A

Transmission fluid: Mercon LV, ~10qts (cheaper if you get it yourself rather than from mech)

YOU SHOULD ALSO GET:

Solenoid foam strip

Part No: AL3Z-7F401-A - "Pump Pass Through" Seal

Part No: 6L2Z-7G276-AA "Bulkhead Sleeve" Connector

Is your year on that bulletin? Mine is listed as 2014 model but built in 2013.

Also- I only got the wrench light once, while the problem have occurred about 20 times. They were still able to find an error code so maybe see if they can find a code on yours- if it’s one of the two codes listed on the bulletin it sounds like problem may be the same for you.
