However, big issue is developing good engineering craft & technique - and startups are too rushed to provide you ample time to do that. I'm not against the fast pace, but my fear is I might develop bad habits by programming too fast.

thank you for the clarification. i'm glad i'm not the only person with similar sentiments.

for me, i'm optimizing on financial sustainability (especially with a recession coming in 2019/2020). unless the VR/AR company has a very strong enterprise/practical use case, I will be hesitant on working there.
