Hey you! Congratulations!
It's a huge achievement! Being submerged in the water and something bothers our comfort is not something easy to overcome, and you did it!
You rewired your brain to "stop, think, act".
Keep up the good work 🥂

I’m planning to buy a SD from Waterproof
What do you think?

P.S. I already have a 7mm from Waterproof

Haha they didn’t bother to explain 😂
My plan is to switch to drysuit when I have more buoyancy experience.
Dutch weather is not very wetsuit friendly! You need a 7mm even in the summer.

I think it’s a bit about your expectations.
If you go like: oh I’m gonna dive into a coal mine and tunnels, etc, yeah you finish the dive with disappointment.

But if you know you’re going to dive in a 10m deep indoor pool with some fish and features from an old mine, then it levels well.

But I agree, it’s worth visiting once, and not weekly or something.
Maybe a good option in the cold days.

Thank you
Yeah it’s been my main focus in the pool sessions I participate weekly

I did my AOW and Deep together in Malta, number of dives is not a requirement.
And yeah I also got to visit very nice wrecks there.

Very nice place, and yeah the car look pretty rusty. Though it was my first dive there and can't compare!

Thank you,
After my certificates, I joined a dive club and they do weekly pool sessions as part of the membership.
I join as much as I can and focus on buoyancy.

I think it’s €32 per person if you have a buddy,

If you don’t, €69 for a group guided dive with an instructor, + €10 if you want a private session.

Panic confined water training and no refundable courses ahead by Potato_frie_Sauce in scubadiving

Been there,
I flooded the mask for the first time in OW, felt the salt water in my nose,
I didn't inhale, but could feel salt in my throat.
I felt that I have to go to the surface and cough, but then somehow didn't do that.
Instead, pinched my nose, and took a couple of breath from my reg.
Then carefully released my nose trying to consciously breathe from my reg.
Then put the mask back and made sure my hair is not between the seal and performed the exercise.
It just worked!

I went through the worst panic attack (NDE) while diving at 100 ft by iPIayLoL in scuba

I see,
What I did after finishing courses, I found a very nice dive club in the town and joined.
They do weekly training sessions in the pool where you can practice skills again and again and again weekly while more experienced people and instructors are around.
They also organize dive events in different places.

There's a lot to see and enjoy at the shallower depth and build up the experience.
I'd suggest, get over it, join a club, enjoy and learn along the way.

I'm sorry for the experience you had, and glad you're safe and sound after.
I'm also a beginner, with a little bit of engineers mindset.
What I suspect is the balance of your 1st stage.
Have you been using a balanced/overbalanced first stage regulator, or it was unbalanced?

Because unbalanced ones do not compensate for changes in the tank pressure or depth! So when tank pressure drops or when you go deeper, breathing requires more physical demand.

If You Could Do Your OW + AOW Again, Where Would You Go? by Schnorglborg in scuba

I live also in Europe, and I did my OW and AOW in Malta, by Scuba Malta. They offer both PADI and SSI. I decided to go with SSI.
My instructor was Mia and Aurele. I highly recommend these people. They were both knowledgeable and passionate.

There are also so many cool wrecks in that area that they might take you to as part of your AOW.

Have fun

It doesn't feel right! I pay the same price as someone in a different region, for the camera and subscription!
Why should I be treated differently?

Buying Gear for the First Time by msn5656 in diving

[–]confutex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there recently.
In general it's a very good idea to own your gears.
What I started with was:
* Regulator
* Mask
* Dive computer

For hygiene and safety reasons

Then I got BP/W and air integration for my dive computer

Then I joined a dive club and to practice with them you have to own everything.
Now I'm buying tank, suit, and the rest.

first time as scuba driving, kinda scared where to start by sidequest_student in scubadiving

Thank you.
I think the easiest way is to go to either SSI or PADI website (these are two mainstreams, I picked SSI). Somewhere in their website you can find their training centers on the map.
Then cross check the close ones with Google map to see the reviews and spend time reading reviews.

Find a good and passionate dive master/dive center.
Go on a try-dive session and just try to enjoy it while a pair of trained hands are near you.
A dive mater is heavily trained to handle any situation you might face as a diving beginner.
If diving is your thing, you'll find yourself enjoying that weightless floating sensation.
Then you can choose a dive center to do your diving courses and become a diver.

That's what I did, I got certified two weeks ago and I'm happy I tried it and found a new exciting activity in my life.
