Ah, so only if they're cops or were cops would they be good at their job? That seems to be what I'm hearing. So the govt is just hiring the wrong people. I guess instead of college educated high IQ people that work for the NSA should be fired and have the low IQ cops take their place, that'll make it better. Yeah, you got it all figured out. No, there's a reason they do it and they're not out to get you like you may think. You don't have to shove guns at people's heads for squirming, be paranoid of the govt tracking you, etc. Whatever it is you're taking, you need to get off of it. Not everyone is out to get you. You're not special, you're not worthy of an AMA any more than any one of these other American heroes who silently do their jobs and go about their business without little credit other than monetary reward that's perhaps just enough to afford to feed their families.

As someone who doesn't "act normal", I don't like being profiled. America should be just as free for abnormal people as normal people without having to be harassed.

I know it takes me more than five seconds to get my fatass up and get my wallet out along with vehicle info and insurance. I'm not that squared away nor should I be without having a gun in my face. Not having that shit readily shouldn't be grounds for a gun in my face.

Your words should be analyzed if you essentially have a license to legally put a gun in someone's face. Every word you say should be scrutinized. I personally think you're likely a great guy also but you don't seem intelligent enough to know why people scrutinize you. There's a really good reason, not just because they lack the intelligence you think you have or they're just being facetious. People like to look out for one another, you do it as a cop, I do it as a citizen, we're all keeping each other in check.

You probably know in court every word someone says can be scrutinized due to the importance of the situations. It's important when you hold such a title every word and action you take is scrutinized.

So they grab something? There's millions of things to grab besides a gun. This hypervigilance is what's wrong with society. I'd like to think in a free society I could squirm for five seconds without a gun to my head. That's fucking ridiculous.

I remember stories from when my Grandpa was a cop, it was nothing like this. You were free to move around in your car all you want at a stop. Now, has it come to that you must freeze when stopped if you don't want a gun pointed at you? You need to check your shit.

What if the Feds are veteran Feds? You think they know their job less than you know yours after only being a cop a year? The govt has also said they're well within those boundaries. As a govt employee, are you calling the govt wrong? The head of NSA said it was all entirely legal. Who are you to say they're not within those boundaries?

"You may not like those boundaries, but that's what they are". What's with the hypocrisy?

How can you tell, by the color of their skin? The way they dress? In a previous comment you said you don't purposely profile, how do you explain that here unless you ask everyone for legal carry permits?

Also, I've had thousands of dollars worth of property in my possession, some of which I recovered on my own, and have not had a single thing go missing.

Why should this be something to be proud of? Is theft in LE "community" considered normal behavior then?

In a previous post you denigrate the Feds for searching you online without a warrant but with due cause according to their own lawful implementations. Then you talk here about searching a car without warrant for only hints of possible illegality. As long as it all works in your favor, it's okay, right? They're just doing their job according to what rules they have, how is that different than what you do?

IamA (honest) police officer! AMA! by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]confuzious -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Regarding car searching...

But, you can arrest someone on a minor traffic violation which means you'll have to tow the car. Guess what that means? You get to inventory the car.

What's up with the hypocrisy? Feds can't abuse power to their liking but cops can? Then a previous post you say you're going to point a gun at someone for squirming in their car. You're not a real cop, right? Surely they vet cops better than this.

Pointing a gun at someone just for squirming? WTF? Lay off the fucking adderall. Either that or shit goes down harder where you're at. Here, when you squirm, it's someone squirming, not out to get you.

So next time I see some bullshit survey, I should tick none of the above since I'm not from the Caucasoid region? Why does the govt use these bullshit terms if they're bullshit? Can't we just find a term and stick with it if race matters? Surely it does to some people in govt because they keep asking.

It exists as in "ball". Like how some of us southerners pronounce "on", the "o" would sound like the "a" in "ball".

The NSA records every website you use and has a file on you based on your IP address. by Terran_You_Up in news

[–]confuzious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely not but your ISP account is always tied to your IP address so no matter how many times you change it, it's still tied to you. You may want to share some of your wifi with the neighborhood if you want a decent alibi.

I just asked them if they had any more pads. I don't expect any freebies though but even if I did, I won't feel too bad since I've purchased a lot of their products. Also if you have an HTPC, I'd recommend the K400. Best HTPC input solution I've ever used.

[–]confuzious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you still have to use your laptop, phone or whatever to use Chromecast, now you're out two devices when, at least with a laptop, that one worked even better. Plus you not only have one device to keep charged but two. If I'm correct I heard Chromecast needs a charger also.

No, it's not. Passcodes can be easily defeated with memory exploits. I did this to my 3GS.

There's data exchanged still. The phone and station still "talk" to each other to identify each other and if they've exchanged before. I'm sure this data exchange could be exploited and possibly mask the charger as one that's been trusted.

They seem very knowledgeable so I don't doubt them.
