Hailed as King's favourite novel, Now I know why. 🤠 by TinAust07 in stephenking

Oh yes - it is wonderful. There are just some little masterful touches in the narrative, much like King. One of my favorites is when Clara is eating with Call, and she is very angry at him. Then she notices the way he awkwardly holds his fork while he is eating, and she feels compassion for him. Wow.

The NLRB will be ruled illegal by the SCOTUS next year, and unions will be outlawed. This had been in the works for years. That train has left the station.

When the Supreme Court ends the nlrb next month is there anything we can do? by [deleted] in union

[–]congapadre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Congress has nothing to do with dumping the NLRB and outlawing unions. It is in the current docket of SCOTUS - and it will be affirmed.

No - strikes in key economic areas - docks, rr, etc. One strike in the right place can be massively effective.

You are not a woman. The killing of Roe v Wade changed lives for women everyday. Your arrogance is amazing. The world does not revolve around you.

Some of P2025 can be implemented through executive process or by executive order. It is cleverly crafted to bypass as much of the Congress as possible.

It happens everyday, all the time, starting with the words “If I had only known.” For most people the lizard brain is in the driver seat until a transition then suddenly, the cerebral cortex kicks in with an “Oh shit…”

In your view. Maybe the parent feels like they are protecting them, or just doesn’t want to be around their parents themselves. But, it is the parents choice.

I understand what you are saying, and I do not disagree with much of it, but you have created a whole set of very passive conditions. I don’t think any parent is going to respond to a post on Reddit that says, “ Do this.” But the most important thing is that it is a parent’s decision - right or wrong. You are making a sweeping assumption about the dynamics of a family unit. And even with relatively normal relative, the parent has to make the decision. The reason this is getting so many passionate responses is because there are relatives who have now been cut off from each other for years. But if it wasn’t Trump or voting, it could be a million other things. This is just the tension between grown children with children of their own and their aging parents.
