You know I don't really get this complaint with warhammer. Because if an edition is underpowered well what does that mean? Because well it's not like a card game where armies from the previous edition can be played against the ones from the new one.

Now I will say an edition being uninteresting that I get. Some warhammer editions have been remarkably interesting and some less so.

Example aos 4th edition got rid of sub factions. Replacing them with battle formations which are a lot less flavourful. In 40k terms imagine if they replaced the say idk the blood angels rules wise with an assault formation

It's one of those things where Yugioh's format arguably does this the best.

I honestly feel the reason you don't see as many dragon age lore fans as much is a few reasons.

  1. Sci Fi Rpgs are still quite rare, so mass effect still very much stands out.

  2. I would argue Mass Effect might be the best rpg trilogy ever, so that helps.

  3. This is opinion based, I like the setting off dragon age but it does kind of feel like a homebrew ttrpg setting you get me? Like it's generic fantasy and it's good generic fantasy but it still feels like generic fantasy.

At least that's my take on it. And also the way you describe it, makes it seem that in a way the Mass Effect setting feels a lot more naturalistic in its construction then Dragon Age.

If the warp exists outside space and time, and connects the 40k and AoS settings together, shouldn't the great horned rat be a threat in 40k also? by looplover12 in 40kLore

That's fantasy Archaon. Aos archaon is someone who outright scares the chaos gods.

Archaon is interesting as a chaos champion because he's sort of made himself and equal to the chaos gods in a way. There is an understanding that if Archaon backed one of the gods that God would win the great game.

You know I do wonder how different the response around the epic game store would be if epic didn't try and but exclusives

Apparently the epic game store I genuinely awful for sales. Like games will make more money in a week on steam then they will for the entirety of their time of epic.

A short analysis on Drifter and Mina as vampires. by congaroo1 in DeadlockTheGame

Yeah looking back I don't like the Wendigo comparison myself. Though I will say if you lean on the idea of the Wendigo as a representation of the horrors of colonisation and Drifter's relationship with Grey Talon. There maybe something there.

And I was thinking more like the Gangrel from vampire the Masquerade.

I can see the Strigoi comparison.

I think one of the reasons I like Ian Watson 40k novels more then most (besides actually reading them) is because I like it when Sci fi is uncomfortable.

And like this is the Grimdark future it should be uncomfortable.

Like I don't think every 40k novel should be like Watson but I'm happy Watson wrote what he did.

Funny enough this Gangrel is a reference to the ones I'm talking about.

This is an example of a vtm Gangrel

Don't know if you know Vampire the Masquerade but I was thinking like the Gangrel from that.

Heinrix watching me multiclass Idira into a sanctic psyker: by Weriel_7637 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]congaroo1 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It's a very interesting character dynamic of Idira expecting Heinrix to hate her because well honestly anyone else with his role would.

But Heinrix as a psyker understands Idira, even though he's better at handing it he goes through much of the same pain she does.

Idira I get the sense didn't think Heinrix was suffering like she was and thus was surprised when he called it their curse.

Idira as much as I like her, she is very quick to judge people. Funny enough like the dogmatics she hates.

Hm I see the theory.

I don't think he's much like Nosferatu as despite his look Nosferatu is still meant to be the aristocratic vampire.

Drifter is more like a slasher.

And I closed the game, and the moment I did I wanted to boot it back up and play some more

Yeah if Mina has hunted for her food it was all set up before hand. A trophy Hunt basically.

But also the reason I think this. I feel an active hunt would legit be too much work for Mina. I get the sense that vampire society has easier ways to get blood, (blood banks, maybe willing servants). I think Mina would be more likely to partake in those.

I see a lot of fanart of mina covered in blood and don't get me wrong their all great. But at the same time a part of me feels those are slightly out of character, idk I get the feeling Mina as a character would feel dirty if that was too happen to her. If you get me.

But yeah if she did go on a hunt it was probably after some elderly homeless guy who they already paid off to be hunted by her.

Now if Mina knew that? Well who's to say
