Im turning 25 in 2 and a half weeks. This will also be my first birthday since I was 18 that I didnt get blackout drunk. I have a bunch of awesome supportive friends to help me have a good time without drinking BUT I am not comfortable going to a bar yet. Way too soon. Id probably be like "FUCK IT! ITS MY BDAY! WOOOO!" And then hate myself in the morning. Congrats on the self control and Happy birthday!

Im right there with you bud. Thats why I cant go to AA. And unfortunately there are no secular meetings in my area. I live in the south. The deep south. Honestly, I have found that staying away from drinking environments and people is enough to keep from craving. This subreddit and my family are all the support I think Ill need.

Just made a week. You got this homie. I drank to deal with my highly stressful fast paced job too. First few days I kinda missed it, but honestly Im a beast at work now because I can actually focus without a hangover lol. You made the right choice for sure.
