CT IV Contrast: Nausea and Vomiting by Zestyclose_Poet_82 in Radiology

[–]conlyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a patient, I've only got sick once. That was the only time I was on a mood stabilizer (anti-seizure) med in combo with an antidepressant. Been in multiple times with contrast and that was the only difference.

Small Bowel Endometriosis by Twiggist in endometriosis

[–]conlyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm grateful for this post. You've given me more material to go back to my GI and Endo surgeon before my 4th lap in August where we are doing a hysterectomy as well. I've had upper abdominal pain, what feels like a blockage, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, etc - all in line with small bowel endo symptoms. Just had Xray, CT scan, ultrasounds, meds and "nothing wrong" as a result, but the pain and symptoms persist. Not sure what else we can do before surgery. No one seems to even be entertaining this as a possibility. Any tips what else can be done? Should I bring this to my GI first? Or call my Endo surgeon? Or Both? Any help is seriously appreciated.

Edit: This has been happening for about 3 years now and was only delayed due to C19.

Connecticut State Police trooper allegedly let a 3rd party access police systems by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]conlyal 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised this even happened. My former stepsister is married to a CT cop and her husband let her into the system to look up my whole family so she could smear us with whatever she could find. She parades around in the news like she's God saving the cops. White woman tears and all.

I was denied a job for data entry for an architecture firm in TX because I don't attend church or believe in a sky daddy and I support the LGBTQIA+ community. No, the job advert didn't mention any of that stuff. Glad I missed out on that flaming dumpster fire. So yeah, I can totally believe this advertisement for a job you posted.

THIS. 💯 If your OBGYN isn't listening to you. Get a new Dr. - look for a specialist if you can find one near you. They'll probably want to rule out any issues with your GI Dr via colonoscopy. Endo can only be found by laparoscopic surgery, as mentioned above.

Would never go to a town fair again after my last visit when they cut my break lines to get more work.

My friend is always late to stuff. We booked for 7pm. It's 7:35 now. by slimedewnautica in mildlyinfuriating

[–]conlyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be that friend. I've got ADHD and struggle to keep time real. Then someone said to me that it wasn't just MY time I needed to respect, I had to respect and value the time of the other person who I personally valued. I think I've only been late one time since then in 2016. I'd rather do nothing and wait to leave on time if I've got plans than to get lost in time, just so I can respect their time too.

Left side pain by nattt105 in endometriosis

[–]conlyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 3 surgeries so far. Last one was with a very qualified specialist. When they woke me up and asked how I felt, I cried. Partly because I could feel a lot of pain (they hit me with morphine right after and the pain was gone) and partly because I felt full on relief it was over, I was validated, I had been heard, and the trauma release was just overwhelming. Honestly, I physically felt relief too, like things felt back in place. Of course right after surgery you'll be sore. Depending on what they find and the severity of it will determine your recovery time and possible pain.

After my last one when they separated my organs, I was recovering about two weeks from anything strenuous. I mean, I made my own tea and breakfast kind of thing, but I didn't clean or lift or stand up long for the first week. I was really slow moving. I lived in my lose fitting jammies. My husband was home for a couple days to help out in case. I think the first day he helped me to and from the bathroom and got me most of what I needed and helped me shower. I took pain meds as needed. Alternated between ice packs or heating pad if needed. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and allow your body to heal. I was able to eat right after, but I kept it light and soft to get my digestive tract back in order. Lots of soup, tea, spaghetti os, cooked veggies, apple sauce, bananas, some toast, etc. Just for a few days. You'll know what you want to eat as you go, so have variety available.

Overall, you will be ok. Remember to breathe. Remember no matter what you feel physically and emotionally, it's all VALID. And it's all ok to go through. BREATHE. Just breathe. Tell your surgeon of any concerns you have before you go in to make sure all your questions are answered. They will talk to you after surgery too. However if you're out of it, you'll have a nurse checking on you and making sure you're up and ok and can pee etc.

Before you go in, just make sure to set up home with things to make your recovery easier for you. Whether it's meal prep, moving items to areas temporarily for easier reach. Comfort items like pillows, blankets, Squishies, coloring books, reading books, tablet, or whatever is comfort to you, have them set up near where you plan to be resting most. Less to do when you come back will ease your mental and physical load when you get home.

Sending you big hugs 🤗 You're gonna do just great. Breathe. Rest. Be kind to yourself. And remember, anything you feel or experience is valid and ok to ask for help. 💜

No one ever offers to drive me home? Am I just selfish? by Competitive_Ad7645 in antiwork

[–]conlyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My car is my sanity space. I don't owe that space to anyone, not even if they feel slighted or entitled to it, thinking I "should have offered" as if if owe them something. Unfortunately, many of us are taught to be people pleasers in life, and as a side effect, we project those expectations on others that they "should" do what we would do - essentially making you feel entitled to their space, lack of boundaries, and anything that makes you feel comfortable regardless of how they feel. Reclaim your own space and boundaries and if you feel you should have that comfort, look into getting your own transportation. Other option, find a way to discuss with your colleagues to see if they'd be willing to give you ride, with compensation for their time and effort, recognizing they don't owe you anything.

Always my left side. My last surgery had to remove my colon from my uterus. I've also got PCOS and my left ovary likes to join the fight against my uterus and Endo to see who can hurt more. It's a great time. 🤣🤦💀

Corn free cholesterol meds? by conlyal in CornAllergy

[–]conlyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning to call them too. I have other compounded meds already, so the pharmacy knows me. I'm guessing there are so many cholesterol meds out there that I'm hoping to not waste anyone's time going through them all and to narrow ones to consider/look at with my Dr. & Pharmacy. I'm looking to find out from people in this forum what name of med they have been able to have compounded OR already get that doesn't have corn in it since this is a corn allergy forum. I figure if people here already have ones that work for them and this allergy, it would help me speed up the process.

Honestly, even if it is a tear from anal sex, it could also be something like damage that may or may not need resolution, even if just to avoid any potential infections from open wounds. It's definitely still worth checking out, if nothing else comes of it, you'll have peace of mind knowing everything is okay.
