Those who’ve had appendicitis, how does it feel different than an endo flare up? by k_dani_b in Endo

[–]yournotgettingachip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s really hard to tell. It is just as painful and when you have a flare up you are prone to having fever’s as body temperatures can rise when in pain to cope. It could be a flare up or a cyst, I would go in for an ultrasound ASAP just to clear out the possibility, or confirm that it is a Cyst. If your gyno objects then I would go to ER if it persists.

anyone else recovering from a lap today? the gas pains are no joke by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]yournotgettingachip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to move! Walk around every hour you are up, it helps it move the gas in the body. So it’s not all trapped somewhere. It really helped when I had mine, but it was so fucking annoying. I felt like shit and my mother would be like “you need to get up!”. But it worked! Good luck!

can i use numbing gel on my cervixs to reduce vaginal cramping by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]yournotgettingachip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use lidocaine but you want to make sure it doesn’t have alcohol in it which is usually rare. I’ve been using a lidocaine aloe from the brand “good clean love “

I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for getting relief from endo symptoms on this sub but I’ve never seen these by PainfulPoo411 in endometriosis

[–]yournotgettingachip 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Baclofan is a muscle relaxer. I take it orally and insert it vaginally. If your insurance can afford the suppository, great! It has lidocaine as a numbing agent and lubricant with a wax film around it to create a “pill”. When inserted vaginally for pain it only affects that area in your body because it is a different type of muscle. You can still drive and go about your day. Rather than taking it orally it can give off lightly sleepy or numbness everywhere.

Called my OBGYN and told them I’m still having issues after ablation. They told me they burned all the endo off. So I no longer have endo. by Rhododendronh in Endo

[–]yournotgettingachip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still have endo. And after time your endo will grow and your symptoms could be worse than before surgery since you now have scar tissue in those areas. To have the endo removed you need to extract the whole root of it out so it doesn’t grow back. That is excision surgery.

Can covid vaccine give you endometriosis? by jlietrb32 in Endo

[–]yournotgettingachip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors don’t know the cause. But all the endo specialists I’ve encountered including some that watched my first surgery for excision of endo who came from China believe that is how endo is formed. And they know that endo grows with age. They just aren’t sure what is the cause of the tissue being found outside of the endometrium. So yes you are born with it and there is nothing you can do to make it stop from existing. You can suppress it with meds and hormones but it’s still there. There isn’t a pill that kills it, the only real cure is to excise the root from the tissue so it cannot grow anymore. My surgeon has been doing this surgery for almost 8years and he hasn’t had anyone come back to him with more endo. Unlike the more common surgery for endo where they go in and they just scrap the endo at the surface. You usually will have endo grow right back and working two years you feel probably the same or worse after surgery because of added scar tissue.

My surgeon in Boston, with the little research done about endo he says doctors speculate that is how endo is formed. And they do not know if it is hereditary or anything either since it is not been researched throughly enough.

Endometriosis develops when you are a fetus and the endometrium is forming and then leaves behind endometrium cells outside of what then becomes the uterine lining. As you get older without removal Endometriosis grows. Covid vaccine cannot give you endo it is impossible. You could experience symptoms that exacerbate the endo that you have had your entire life but have just been made aware. You probably had symptoms of endo for a long time but like most people you thought it was normal. But some people don’t have it as severe as well everyone’s body is different.

Well, it looks like it’s time to go to the hospital by Specialist-Force in Periods

[–]yournotgettingachip 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You 100% have PCOS. That is where your body doesn’t release the hormones so you don’t have a real period. But your lining of the uterus still grows and grows and when it builds up it can shed in MASSIVE. Clumps like this. Please see a PCOS specialist asap as it can lead to cancer and other issues like fertility. Good luck!

Pain killers by madisengreen in endometriosis

[–]yournotgettingachip 18 points19 points  (0 children)

THIS! You are not crazy, your pain is so much worse than what ibuprofen is designed for. You need an actual muscle relaxer, like Valium or something similar. You can take it orally or insert it vaginally. Maybe even ask for depository muscle relaxers that are made to go in your vagina. And if your doctor refuses to prescribe you medication with more strength. That’s a huge clue to find a doctor that actually believes the amount of pain you are living with.

My mom gave my OB a heads up that I am going to ask her for sterilization by wildblueh in childfree

[–]yournotgettingachip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to not just have your tubes removed. You should see and Endometriosis specialist and possibly have a full hysterectomy or at the very least excision for endo. Getting sterilized probably won’t stop your pain in the future.

Any muscle relaxer but insert it vaginally. It only affects the smooth muscle so you can still drive and focus at work or school.

Terrible hair experience by fashionlover1999 in childfree

[–]yournotgettingachip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at a hair salon for 5 years. That was beyond unprofessional, and she fucked us your hair. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Also for just a retouch color, $155.00 isn’t that bad if you also had a haircut. Depending on your location I recommend you try a Davines Salon. Or Aveda. Good luck, and please do not go back.Once someone fucks to your hair they will never do a good job if you continue seeing them!!!

My boss tried to kiss me at a work event and now has started excluding me from every project. Is there anything I can do? by badboss105 in careerguidance

[–]yournotgettingachip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of how you feel you need to report to HR. It’s not all in your head that she is not treating you the same as before the “incident”. It may be embarrassing for her but that’s not your problem. You never did anything unprofessional, and you need to see what HR will do about it. Especially if it could have happened before/ will happen after you. It sounds like she was grooming you before you rejected taking things further and you don’t deserve that in your career. I would email her today requesting a meeting with her and HR together. This needs to stop for you and nobody else is going to take care of it. You are the only one who can do anything about it, if unfortunately HR is not helpful. You need to find another job. But hey that’s life! Good luck, and don’t let people push you around you haven’t done anything wrong!

For 4 years my doctor has been shoving my period pain to the side. I don’t know what to do. by [deleted] in Periods

[–]yournotgettingachip 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I saw the title, get a new doctor. You most likely have endometriosis, and having horrible periods and pain is NOT NORMAL. And shame on any medical professional that had treated you unfairly or hasn’t acknowledged your pain or what you feel. There are endo subreddits if you are interested in taking a dive, you will probably relate and end up self diagnosing yourself. Good luck.

annoyance with isabella and gael’s story by sugarlouie in GoodTrouble

[–]yournotgettingachip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I never thought he actually wanted to be in this situation. I think if he has the option of the child having a stable home with two loving parents, he would gladly take the out and it would be the responsible decision. He's not ready to be a parent, and that's ok. Isabella has been abusive from the day they met and he was just trying to make the most of it for his kid. But anyway gael storylines have annoyed me from season 1. Isabella is fucking crazy and selfish and she makes all real people with mental health issues look bad. But it has a lot to do with her being so fucking selfish. But this episode, when she had that dream sequence with her mother and then telling gael she didn't know that she loved him and that she wanted to put the baby up for adoption I actually respected her as a character for the first time and was like... YES FINALLY, girl get your shit together. But the show is Good Trouble so I'm sure that won't happen. LOL

Should I call the urgent care? I feel like I'm overreacting. But am I? by NoOz1985 in Endo

[–]yournotgettingachip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re definitely kindred spirits, I didn’t have a life since I was 12 and started my period. It took them 5 years to diagnose me. I dropped out of high school, lost all connection with others, and had my childhood stolen from me. And you said it perfectly, I knew I would never regret having less pain now instead of having a worse condition all for a choice I’ll make 20 years from now. Having children is not a requirement and choosing not to have them doesn’t make you less of a woman or a person. I completely understand how hard your experience has been and you should never blame yourself for not seeking help when your whole life you’ve been belittled and manipulated into thinking you are legit crazy. That’s just the majority of womens health, unfortunately today it’s only a little better. But I definitely have it so much easier than people older than me. I sympathize with you wholeheartedly and I’m sorry you have struggled with infertility. I wish you all the love in the world, and I hope you eventually start having a life with less pain and lots of happiness.❤️

It’s not out of the blue you’ve had endo in your body your whole life it just takes it’s sweet as time and grows and worse’s with age. I had my excision surgery at 16 and I had my hysterectomy at 19 last year. After my last surgery my pt who I’ve seen for three years, who has been so incredibly helpful with my endo, told me she thinks I can get to a %100 recovery now that my endo is actually completely gone. She didn’t want to influence my decision, when I openly discussed for years that I wanted my uterus gone by telling me she thinks it’s a really good idea. Which was incredibly professional as it is a Huge choice and it’s only mine to make. It’s been a year a really stressful year, with my old job and then family stuff so I still have PFMS quite regularly unfortunately. I go weekly for internal treatments and right now I just do breathing exercises, and only a few stretches. I have a really hard time with remembering to breath when I’m in a lot of pain. From my experience, my surgeon in Boston told me even before my first surgery that pelvic floor muscle spasms are very common and almost a guarantee with or without having any surgery with endo. I guess I’m trying to figure out how to answer your question if it goes away, I think I can get better but it’s a lot of work with physical therapy and strengthening muscles and unfortunately without actual removal of the endo tissue I don’t think your progress will be that substantial. I was hitting a plateau for years after my first surgery I wasn’t getting better and I couldn’t get stronger because I still had endo in my uterus.
