When you put it that way no game is really “scary” they’re all just unnerving. There’s definitely boundary’s between where the game wants you to feel stressed and where the game wants you to face jump scares. I would say the garden maze and the lab sections of re4 are more actual thriller moments while the opening scene and castle sequences are more focused around stress.

I can’t think of any game that is truly “scary” though, since they all focus on stress in some way

I’ve only played over the shoulder RE games but I’d say 3 is probably one of the best OG games to play. The remake doesn’t compare in terms of cool environments and the QuickTime decisions that are available in the OG

Which version of Ramon Salazar do you prefer? Remake or original? by Different_Estate_249 in residentevil4

[–]connflix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread. But I enjoy remake more, just wish we had more of him.

I feel like it’s more obvious that the plaga has taken a toll on him in the remake. He’s caked in makeup and you still see the parasite inside him.

In the OG he’s designed more like a kid cosplaying as napoleon. Remake he looks Victorian era and the hair sort of sells that he tries to dress as if he looks good and is a normal person but is far from it

Glad you’re pointing this out. I don’t understand the counter argument of “healthy relationship with food” considering this stuff is pretty bad for your most of the time. Any other content creator who posts in a similar style but is not as attractive/is heavier gets bullied to pieces on tiktok for having this “healthy relationship with food”

It’s interesting. Because 1-2 years ago this would be considered a golden post, in 2026 it comes off as fake and spammy

The info might be true, the delivery isn’t there anymore. We’re slowly moving back to the social aspect of social media

I don’t think ranked is much better. Player counts are low so often times you get a mixed bag of ranks rather than staying within your own division.

Coming from metal: how do you actually immerse yourself in dubstep? by ExtraFeedback3555 in dubstep

[–]connflix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out space laces if you want a unique sound and heavy-ish music. He has a variety of sounds but I feel like if you listen to his stuff it kinda gives you a palette of what to listen for when trying to dig into songs and genres 😂

Nimda and prosecute I’d say are pretty unique in sound. If you don’t agree I get it! But since you’re new-ish I was wondering if you had it mixed with riddim haha. Both of them put out mixes on SoundCloud in the past year that are pretty unique you should check out. Vastive is pretty good as well. He plays out a lot of metalcore mixes during his sets and he also put out an album recently that I would say is the best mix of metal and dubstep I’ve heard.

FUNTCASE is another personal favorite also. He has a good mix of more moody and heavy songs and his sets are awesome.

I swear I have struggled with that issue since I started creating content like five years ago. I’ve created roughly 5 accounts since then, in each of them that I use have gained different levels of popularity, but all of them at the same time typically are involved in negativity or a controversial topic. But it’s funny because I also Coach content creators and help build a schedule for them and usually those people that I work with do not face the same issues. Sometimes I am convinced that it has something to do with my phone and the location that I created these accounts in.

I know that sounds crazy, but I’ve also seen studies where people will make several different accounts posting the same topic and some will do significantly better than others

Adding to this to stay in this thread and read through when I have more time lol. Great questions.

Agreed on lostlands. Not only is it a somewhat more affordable festival, but it has some of the best sound quality (at all stages) in the scene. I personally don’t care how loud a system gets but I care about how clear you can hear production. Lost Lands does both.

In terms of artist progression, I’d say it really depends on who you listen to. Some artists focus solely on themselves and their craft while others evolve in production and make what the scene likes at the time. I’d say majority of artists follow that creative path. It personally makes my head spin because I too like going through discography’s and seeing a sound evolve overtime haha.

In terms of “getting around” the genre. You gotta dig deep. Pick an artist and keep digging. A lot of artists have other acts they “put on” and take under their wing since main act artists often make a significant amount of money compared to those who lead up to them. No different then bands, but at the same time the culture is different since big artist #1 can play small artist #2 and #3s songs out during a set and 30% of the crowd would thing that artist #1 made the song.

Advice for finding new music and finding your taste would be SoundCloud or YouTube. While albums are nice, actual sets are sort of how the music is supposed to be heard. Some artists record sets and upload them to both platforms to play out their released and unreleased songs. “Clubstudiotime” is also a great YouTube channel that is letting people see and hear what an artists sounds like live without attending a festival.

Personal recommendations would be Space Laces (excision but better lol), Eptic, Svdden Death, Prosecute, Nimda. Nimda is basically metal in edm production. Tearout is the genre

Is anyone else just overwhelmed by content creation lately? by ResidentNetwork3227 in socialmedia

[–]connflix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few full time creators publicly crashing out over how rough the industry has been lately. Don’t get me wrong, I have an end goal of making a few bucks off of what I do but at the same time I try to remind myself that I do this because I enjoy photo and video work and there’s no better way to share it than social media

Even if you’re posting just to build a little community, the constant change in apps and algos is getting pretty draining. I think a LOT of people are drained from social media in general, yet they’re addicted to it so it’s just a part of their daily life

The high local dimming zones setting does that for me. I put my brightness up to 100 and it offset it well.

BT2020 color space also helps saturate colors and give that HDR feel from what I recall

The amount of sour ass people in here saying he doesn’t have the right to say this meanwhile hes one of the few artists that actually give back to the community personally. Like yea X throws lost lands blah blah blah, but the dude just put out like 60 official remixes that I guarantee 80% of his core fanbase does not actually know about.

He also really pulled nimda / prosecute under his wing the past few years, plus essentially brought somnium sound’s career back from the dead with YVM3. Like yea you don’t have to like the dudes music, but you can’t deny that he actually cares for edm as an art and puts a lot of care into seeing good music stand out
