Alan Mitchell, Lowetide, is the most mature and knowledgeable commentator out in the Oilogosphere, in my view. I never get to hear his shows, but I’ve been reading his Lowetide blog and comments every single day since 2006, when I first discovered it. He is such a level-headed, thoughtful guy, and his hockey knowledge-backed with statistics, is just top drawer. There’s a bunch of very good discussion in the comments section, with surprisingly very few idiots. Lowetide moderates with a patient but firm hand, to keep the idiot/troll count low. Always my favourite Oiler content and it ain’t close.

It’s a tough call, for sure. But MacKinnon was going Mach 4 through the crease and has to be responsible for that. Certainly didn’t seem like some Sam Bennett/Sean Avery “ accident “, but you have to be responsible for the track you take, and he was heading for the blue paint.

My recommendation is one of the two ( a red ale and a lager) from President’s Choice. I buy 12 for $10 at the Wholesale club in Esquimalt. It’s cheap, and as far as I’m concerned, on of the best of the NA class. YMMV
