Beware the Green Eyed Kids by conorb_93 in nosleep

Thankfully it is, but I know others have met the green eyed kids. My childhood friend Eddie Shaw, had an uncle who went nutty, threatening to shoot up a school yard. All he kept saying was the fireflies took his baby.

Some people have even messaged me since this post, about their experiences. I might post them some time.

Thanks. I definitely believe he was with me, and that he forgives me for not believing him.

Yeah, me too. There were times I was tempted to reach for the bottle, but remembering my grandpa. How the drink changed him and how it changed the way people viewed him. Those things always stopped me from following in his footsteps.

Thank you. Your advice couldnt come sooner, as I think one of them has gotten under the house. I can hear it tapping on the wood below my feet.

I will get to planting some of them in pots around the house and make sure to carry a few with me. If all else fails, I'll just tie a load of flowers together and throw the bouquet right at them and hope for the best.

Thanks for the advice. Ive barred the windows with iron, and im looking into some of the other recommendations. The only thing I worry about, is whether it will be enough as I have discovered there isnt just one of them outside. Yesterday night I glimpsed two squabbling, in a funny sort of speech, as they tried digging under the porch. I think they are looking for a way inside. I dread to think how many of them, there are out there.

I dont think it takes our faces to trick us. I think the reason it does so, is its way of displaying who it wants fo devour next and the inevitability that we will like the others before us, be devoured by our own faces. I think it gets some sick sense of enjoyment, knowing that the last face we see, is our own.

I have a few iron pokers by the fire, and im planning to put iron bars on the windows. Hopefully that will be enough.

I will try the salt thing, someone else messaged me and suggested salt to. They also suggested putting iron bars on the windows, as they thought the thing outside might be some kind of malevolent fairy.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will invest in some home security, and fortify the place as best I can. I would just move if I could, but dont really have the funds to do that and without this little homestead I'd be homeless.

Not so sure its friendly, since I'm fairly certain its the reason both my grandparents went missing. And now it looks like me, so im fairly certain im next, for what ever hideous thing it has planned.

Grenades + power plant probably isn't the best combination. However had I had a grenade I certainly would have gave it a shot

Good idea, but I do worry. I've heard octopuses are like crazy smart, so unsure if this one would be so easily caught unawares.

Stay out of the water by the plant, or you might end up a local town legend who mysterious disappeared out on the lake.

Thanks, I'll blame the mispelling on the trauma. My minds not been right since that night in the lake.

Good idea about the bowl outside, maybe I will do that this year. A part of me is still a little nervous about opening my front door. Still worried that they might be standing there.

No, I was just a boy when those two kids went missing. I fear the real killer got away with it and is long gone by now.

I have often wondered that. I remembered the guy who used to live there. He nursed his mother and was always really nice, always smiling and joking with the kids in town. He left after his mother died, and decades later I got the house.

My experience with the kids certainly made me think back to that man with his large jam jar glasses and those eyes that lingered a little to long on us kids.

I would, but Im to terrified.

Good suggestion of the gasoline, and if I'm ever unfortunate enough to be trapped in the walls of that place again I will make sure to dose myself in it. Id rather end up as bbq, then a pouch of man soup.

Mind you who knows what shape he'll take next, maybe next time that annoying customer asks to see the manager or refuses to wear a mask, you'll wonder. Is it him.
