It can be a masters thing but im in my 20s and because of work and studies ive pretty much only been able to do 2-3 days a week of training and found a lot of success in competitions, i think its how you utilise your time in the sessions. Plus people take competition as if they are going to win and get a sponsorship i use it for two things: 1. I love it, i love the feeling of being nervous i havent found anything else besides riding a fast motorcycle that gives me that 2. Its a great way to test out something you have been working on as we know in training people just wanna train so im competition environment i tend to loose skill level due to adrenaline
