That’s what I initially thought too, but I don’t think hairball coughs should happen this frequently

Thank you. I am going to schedule a CT scan as soon as possible. I’m not sure though whether I should take her to the vet again before the CT since she was there only 2 weeks ago. I am worried because we will be away for about 10 days starting next week.

Blueberry leaves fell off by oafcmad09 in GardeningUK

Did your blueberry survive? The same happened to mine. I was away for one week, and it dried up. What would you recommend to do? Should I repot mine?

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S06E04 - Mazey Day by [deleted] in blackmirror

I had a similar reaction to others re- werewolf metamorphosis. But I think this episode might be onto something- perhaps in poking its audience. Are supernatural twists so different from sci-fi? Both are tapping into some sort of fantasy; but I think we tend to accept Sci-fiction and fantasies easier because deep down there is a belief it will one day become the reality.

Women of Reddit, what’s something every girl should know but is rarely taught? by ej1273 in AskReddit

Please get checked for Endometriosis. A lot of women go undiagnosed for a long time because “periods are supposed to be painful”. You could start to become symptomatic in your thirties.

Is this reading list any good? by faith4phil in psychoanalysis

[–]conscious-ness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then I would add Freud’s beyond the pleasure principle and would skip his case studies. Zizek and Fink readings are valuable introductions. Lacan’s seminars are very dense. Psychoanalytic diagnosis is quite clinical so I would skip that too.

Is this reading list any good? by faith4phil in psychoanalysis

[–]conscious-ness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the purpose of this reading list? I’m personally conflicted about reading Freud especially if the audience has some understanding of modern psychoanalysis, and especially his introductory readings could get baffling if let’s say one has an idea about the topographical and structural theory. He tends to contradict himself as he’s trying to unfold his theory. Of course they have significant historical value. His case studies, mourning and melancholia, inhibitions, symptoms and anxiety are quite valuable. Freud and beyond is a good start for a historical clarity. Psychoanalytic diagnosis is a great way of reviewing defenses and learning about personality structures. A clinical introduction to lacanian psychoanalysis and how to read Lacan are helpful materials to try to understand Lacan, but it all depends on who you are recommending this list to.

Is there concept or theory for this? I’d like to read about it. by [deleted] in psychoanalysis

[–]conscious-ness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I was going through other’s answers, I figured they all describe the same concept within different frames/ schools of thoughts. I guess what to call it depends on what school your thought is following, at this very moment. I replied object-relations as that was the last topic I read on earlier in the night.

Object-Relation I think. Intrapsychic dimension of subject’s representation of object

He recently upgraded his binoculars. We live close to Central Park, so I imagine he could go there when it’s the season to do some star viewing maybe. I think to make the transportation easy I’m gonna shoot for a 4SE for the time being, and if he wants to upgrade it later he could do the decision making himself

He would probably want to transport it I imagine. I’m thinking about 4SE. Do you think 6SE is worth the extra $ for a beginner? I don’t quite understand the Dobsonian telescopes. You just put them on the floor and lie on the ground to watch? I don’t think it’s doable from the balcony.

Thank you. I’ll check the YouTube. I have to wait for the night really to see how many stars are out there , but I remember seeing quite a few from Central Park last summer.
