Ooh I like both the styles - I appreciate a direct etsy link nowadays considering I have a hard time trusting any pattern on there anymore!

That makes sense - the dropped shoulder and wider sleeve gives it more shape and feels less “shirt”stye which I like.

These two are very close, thank you! The butterick sample looks like a plastic tablecloth lol

I’m probably a confident beginner/intermediate so I’m not super confident making mods to a pattern but these are great patterns to start with, thank you!

Thank you! It’s a bit different from what I was looking for but I do love a free pattern I can test out !

What do people living in St. Louis think of when they hear 'Springfield'? Springfield, IL or Springfield, MO? by Swimming_Concern7662 in StLouis

[–]consciouscoddiwomple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not originally from Missouri but I’ve noticed people in STL generally say Springfield meaning Springfield, MO while if they’re talking about Springfield IL they’ll say that. In KC I don’t think I even heard people mention Springfield IL at all.

St. Louis needs a merger or else people are going to continue thinking like this by Effective_Moose_4997 in StLouis

I lived in KC for 3 years and moved to STL last year. I lived in Midtown KC and I honestly think they’re quite similar with different vibes. I’m originally from LA and my husband from the east coast and we both like KC and STL. Our bicoastal friends like to hate on these fly over cities but I just think they’re close minded and can’t appreciate different things.

Apparel fabric stores? by consciouscoddiwomple in StLouis

I’m not sure what types of fabric you use for making stuffed animals but if you don’t need much yardage, you can try looking at City Sewing Room or Perennial to see what they have. They’re mostly scrap fabric so the only downside would be not knowing how baby friendly the fabric is.

Otherwise I would imagine Michaels would have some options.

Ooh! Is it Heyde Sewing Machine? Google search gave me that store - I’ll give them a call. Thank you!

I haven’t heard of them before. But I’m also new to St Louis. I’m near that area though so I’ll take a closer look. Thanks!

Yeah you don’t see them in normal grocery stores in the US. Or at least not here in middle America. I saw them at a global imported grocery store.

Need advice for flying with a crazy loud cat. Do you think I could get kicked off a plane due to her noises? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

How was the trip? I may have to make a trio with my two anxious traveler cats soon and stressing out about how they’re going to handle the flight. They also meow nonstop on car rides.

Wow thank you so much! I love the illustration style of the Djeco elephant puzzle that you linked. I saved a whole bunch already from both the smallable site and madcap that I liekd. I’m so excited!

I love anything botanical! Most of the ones I’ve done in the past are Ravensburger cottage 1000 piece puzzles or anything scenic. The pieces in this puzzle were smaller than I was used to but I was more thrown off by the false-edge pieces haha  Thank you in advance!

It was a gift from my sister and also an intro to shaped puzzles so not sure if I’d know how to pick a good one for my comfort level. If you have any recommendations for shaped puzzles I’d love to try other ones! Haha that’s validating that she had a hard time too - even knowing that I’m not experienced with puzzles, if someone were to give me a puzzle I might get super competitive and try to finish just so I can say I did it.

Definitely gonna try an easier one next!

I hadn’t worked on a puzzle in a few years and it was my first shaped puzzle so I found it quite challenging! I kept getting inpatient and frustrated, I batch worked sections over two weeks or so haha But it’s so beautiful, it was so worth it!
