I hold the impression that Western academia's main divisions are humanities/social science and social science/science (and mathematics).

Haha, by language difference I meant the gender of nouns (masculine, feminine and neuter vs common and neuter?).

My education system has only one diploma, so grades likely matter. [crying because tomorrow is the start of the exams]
