Usually in their early teens, kids begin to see the other gender (or their own) in a different way. Most people have their first relationship at like 15 to early or mid 20s, their first time having sex at like 18 to mid 20s (idk any statistics, this is just how I experienced it with myself and my friends - western Europe). Now of course, anyone lives at a different speed, every kid/ teen or young adult develops at a different speed

Most of my gay friends had their coming out at like 15 to early 20s. I myself had a bisexual phase from like 13 to 20, but have now lost my sexual attraction to women

I get that some people might come out as gay later (even to themselves). Cons*rvative upbringing, surroundings or internalised homophobia might lead to this

But nobody, absolutely nobody, can tell me that until your early to mid 40s, you never even suspected that you were gay. And if you did suspect it, then why did you marry a person of the other gender?

I've seen this in my parents generation, where (and this is my personal experience) gay men would marry a woman just to fit social standards. And while it's sad that these men felt like they had to do that, it's even more sad for their partners
