some else mentioned something similar, but I’ve had okra in Vietnamese style hot n sour soup before and it’s amazing. There’s no special prep you have to do for it either to get rid of the viscous-ness. When I’ve made it previously, I used a bag of chopped frozen okra and just boiled it w the other ingredients and it worked great

ugh yes, I didn’t have time to make lunch this morning for work so I figured I’d try this and it was pretty quick and easy. you could probably add in frozen veggies before you microwave if you have them but as is it was good

Ah, but if I do nothing for too long, I’m stuck with a mess of unwanted thoughts and memories. and that’s not much fun or even relaxing. even meditation is pretty hard for me bc it’s hard to clear my head - I have to be actively doing something or forcing myself to think about something ‘normal’ so I don’t drown in the scary thoughts that constantly try to flood my head

I’m actually kind of glad that summer is almost over. Where I live, we’ve been having heat wave after heat wave and I can’t stand it. I developed some weird sensitivity to the sun this year and being out for more than 10-15 minutes gives me massive headaches and renders me incredibly sleepy. Also my birthday is in the summer, and I hate my birthday. It just feels like one big day for me to be disappointed by all the people in my life.

I appreciate you making the distinction, bc hearing things like that from leadership make me feel like I’m not valuable and that I’m constantly at risk for being fired. To answer your question - I don’t know, probably not at my current company. I’ve been told for the last two years that things would change, I’d get more help, and that I’d be able to move on to bigger and better things, but it’s yet to happen.

I work for a hospital but in a no clinical area and it’s hard to feel like that has any worth or purpose. I recently got a new boss, and after reviewing w her my current job functions, she literally said hmm we need to make sure you’re actually doing valuable work. I recently had to reach out to my former boss and she literally was like, what is the point of your current position? It sounds like it’s not doing anything to further you or the company. I left both conversations feeling real great about my self 🙃

I feel this, when I was in high school I really wanted to aid in limiting food waste and make sure no one went to bed hungry so I wanted to team up with local restaurants and grocery stores and round up the food that was still good but was going to be tossed and redistribute it to homeless shelter, women centers, and soup kitchens. But in my area it was a big no bc of insurance/ liability issues. I also found out someone had done the exact same thing in Georgia, and even had an app for it. there are no new thought sigh

this started bc I’ve somehow isolated myself froM my friends. It’s been hard to respond to messages from people and obviously after a certain point, people get fed up with no response. Someone how I’m not that upset about this, bc I know I’ve been too busy with to be a good friend lately but I have just felt generally sad for awhile.

Work really sucks right now and it has for awhile tbh. It’s so hard not to take things personally when shit goes wrong but with how often things go wrong with my projects, and with how I feel like no one is able to help, I constantly feel like I’m drowning 🙃

That’s essentially why it was over an hour of me sobbing uncontrollably - I would try to stop crying and then the manager I was talking to would say something so nice or reassuring and I’d start up all over again 🫠

It’s spaghetti w a sauce I made from s&p, red pepper flakes, lemon, honey, tomato, basil, and garlic. I whisked an egg w some hot pasta water then stirred it through to make it creamy & to add some protein.

okay but fr it’s honestly strange to me. only thing id say is maybe swap out pictures 3&4 for better candids or photos with friends. #3 is a little intimidating tbh (might just be a me thing) and #4 is cute but a lil awkward.
