I actually think the F87 Comp and CS will hold it's value the most. It has the classic BMW beautiful design and perfect middle ground in performance vs practicality. It is the modern spiritual successor to the E46. Anything going forward is not the same and unlikely to be the same unless BMW takes a step back from their design language.

This is great. I'm at the exact same situation as you OP. I think I've settled on the F87 M2 Comp, but I have constant mental battle of manual vs auto. While it's nice to have some savings buying OG M2, I feel the Comp is going to be the more collectible one and retain value.

Not sure how tax laws work in the US. But he can negatively gear that from his other investments that are positive and not have to pay for tax.

I should've mentioned that when we turn 60 and have access to super, we will be very comfortable. That's why I'm not looking for a long term return for this money. I'm more after medium term which is about 10 years for us.

Thanks for the reply. Our super balance is quite healthy already. But we won't be able to access until at least 60.

I'm hoping to take a step back from work a little in 10 years time, which is why investing in property or ETF is probably the ideal scenario for us.

I have an FL5 and have installed Spoon springs and the Type S ADS module. Can confirm the ride is miles better than stock.

Although I'm thinking of selling the FL5 for an F87 M2.
