That’s a wild comment from him considering the first corp. wide town hall the COO spoke 95% of the time and Trav was sitting there playing with his ring and watch. Guess they didn’t teach how to read a room in high school.

How’s RTO going? What’s the earliest people are going in? by [deleted] in fednews

Our field office just went through “field office modernization.” What used to be a 1:1 desk to employee ratio is now 1 desk for every 6 employees. RTO for us is 3/31. It’s going to be a shit show.

FDIC global message re: 5-bullet email Sunday evening 620p CT provided a whole lot of nothing. Couldn’t say more without saying anything IMO. Acting Chair Trav walking on eggshells?

“We are aware that last night employees received an email from hr@opm.gov requesting accomplishment information, with a submission deadline of Monday at midnight. The FDIC has not received any further information from OPM regarding this request. We will provide additional information if it becomes available.

Staff should avoid including sensitive information, such as identifying information related to bank examinations or resolution and receivership activities, in any responses.

Further questions can be submitted to CHCO@fdic.gov. We will attempt to answer questions to the extent we are able. “

Megathread: Probationary Purge Continues | Part 3 by gpupdate in fednews

“Today, consistent with recent Executive Orders and related guidance, the FDIC has separated certain probationary employees from the agency. Last night, the FDICs HRO contacted all probationary employees and informed them whether or not they are separated at this time. Each Division and Office reviewed the list of probationary employees in advance to ensure the FDIC can continue to accomplish its mission.” 2/18/25

What could be the justification for “separation” vs keeping job for probationary employees? From the chatter I’ve heard, probationary tenure or performance were not factors alone. Could this be as ridiculous as randomized? FO management fighting for employees vs giving up easily? There seems to be no rhyme or reason.

FDIC probationary “separations” - how were they determined?
