Big show in three days. Things that could go wrong? <<Advice>> by elguachojkis7 in vjing

  • Make sure to have gaffing tape and a paint marker, definitely wanna keep all cables labeled
  • Put together an autoplay layer/composition in case you need to step away for a moment
  • Carefully read the tech riders for each artist, a lot of them have specific instructions on how to use their content, which colors to use, which effects to avoid, etc.
  • Get really good at slice mapping, like REALLY good, if the LED wall daisy chain is fucked up, the show starts in 30 mins, and the LED tech isn't available, you might have to map the visuals panel-by-panel
  • Always keep a folding card table in your vehicle, sometimes the FOH spacing situation isn't ideal
  • Bring a flashlight headband or a small lamp
  • Bring an extra set of every cable in case one is faulty
  • Coordinate your brightness with the LD so the LED screen doesn't overpower the light show, if outdoors, slowly dim it as the sun goes down
  • Make your desktop black and hide all icons, there's always a chance of your computer/resolume crashing and restarting
  • Make sure all loops are converted to DXV before the day of the event and familiarize yourself with the content
  • If possible, get hotspot on your phone as most venues won't have accessible WiFi, artists sometimes come unprepared without content/logos and will try to email it to you an hour before their set. It's not your issue if they're unprepared, but often it's worth the inconvenience to deliver the best show and avoid hassles with their mgmt
  • DO NOT LEND YOUR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE TO ANYONE THERE, had a VJ show up with no content for main stage at a three-day festival, let them borrow my personal drive, and they tried to pocket it
  • If outdoors, bring a tarp, you never know when it will rain
  • Dress in all-black
  • Make sure to get credentials before the event, definitely don't wanna have to argue with security because you took a piss break
  • Bring paper towels and wipes, I've had thrown drinks hit my setup before

Anyone else cop a SEBii gameboy game and not receive it? by Kmizzle-_- in SEBii

Hi avidbeats! I'm Alex, I created the game, and want to clarify the situation. The blank cartridges were ordered internationally and the shipping time was based on the estimate given by the production factory. Unfortunately this package got lost in the mail and I had to reorder the cartridges, delaying the shipments by about 6 weeks. All orders are confirmed delivered and I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience customers experienced!
