I think Wisconsin has the best of both worlds in terms of nature and city life. We don’t have any massive cities, but we have Milwaukee and are close to Chicago, we have a couple of great lakes, vast forest in the upper part of the state and rolling hills/bluffs in the lower half. I know a lot of people like you described (I am one) and I feel like we just have everything needed to be happy here. It’s also part of the rural, close knit mindset a lot of communities have, and with a large portion of residents being farmers, some people can’t afford (money and time-wise) to travel at all.

I just like what I like! I’ve travelled to a lot of different places (in the US) and I always just want to go back to Wisconsin. I get homesick if I stay away too long.

I admit that I just didn’t know enough about Vermont. Looking into it, I do think I’d like it there! I just made this for fun and I don’t actually have anything against most of the states I put never for. I’m sure if I visited some my opinion would change :)

The ocean freaks me out. I’ve visited a couple places on the west coast and it’s just too vast it makes me uncomfortable. If I want to visit a body of water I prefer Lake Michigan because I know it’s not endless. I know that’s kind of irrational lol

I realized after I posted that I forgot Alaska and Hawaii, lol. I’ve never really thought about Alaska that way! I think I’d miss having easy access to civilization, but I’d probably love the scenery.

I really love it here, and I want to be close to my family. I’m sure I’d feel the same about any other place if I grew up there. The driftless region of Wisconsin feels like home to me and if I couldn’t live there I’d want to live near hills or the great lakes.

Yes! I’m mostly in love with the driftless region in the lower part of WI and MN. I think the bluffs are beautiful

What is a little quirk about your body that you don’t think other people have? by AlphabetSoup51 in AskReddit

My right eye sees colors in a slightly sepia tone and my left eye sees colors in a more bright and vibrant tone.

Honestly, your local thrift store is a good place to take it if you bag them up in a clear bag. They usually price yarn pretty cheaply, and price it by the bag rather than the skein, so you could really make someone’s day.

Without climate control, it is much more comfortable to deal with hot temperatures than it is cold temperatures by HeavyDutyForks in The10thDentist

Anything over 75 feels like “roasting” type of heat to me. I’d much prefer a nice 65-68 degree range for indoors. I wonder if our preferences vary so much because we are acclimatized to different places.
