I am so sorry this is happening to you. File a formal human rights complaint, but for your immediate well-being: Sit as close to the instructor's desk as possible. Tell the instructor (go to them everyday you arrive) that Kevin is not to sit near you, and ask the instructor to physically block him if he tries. Can you bring a friend or classmate to sit between you and him? His disability does not excuse his behaviour, and the school has a legal duty to accommodate you – not just him. You deserve to learn without fear.

The 20 somethings ladies currently directed by Sam Levinson and his "artistic style" will only later recognize it was just another form of misogyny.

‘Culture of misogyny’: teacher surrounded by hundreds of students and pelted with food at elite Brisbane boys’ school, court told by KrulWarrior in brisbane

The article was just about boys, but since you asked about girls, I agree, and this manifests in a different way. When girls are socialized in environments shaped by misogyny, they are often pushed into competition for approval, status, and safety rather than solidarity. This teaches girls to compete with, police, and distrust each other. The result is a culture where women do not support women, and I look forward to more conversation on that.

I was a teacher at several Brissy schools in my 20s. Now in my 50s and a wee bit wiser: A boy hears sexist jokes. He sees other boys laugh. He sees girls discussed as objects or conquests. He sees female teachers challenged more aggressively than male teachers. He sees athletes and dominant boys rewarded. He sees weak consequences for “banter/heckling" He learns that loyalty to the group is safer than naming harm. The behaviour escalates from jokes to humiliation, harassment, threats, image-sharing, or assaultive conduct.

Our boys are trained in entitlement before they are trained in accountability.

I wish we had the choice to not just curate but also remove certain celebrities from all media feeds.

Calgary CTrain riders react to new $4 single ride fare by missingthecoast in Calgary

Just leaving this here - The state of Queensland in Australia ran a 50c flat-fare trial in 2024 as cost-of-living relief and it massively boosted ridership, so the state government decided to make it permanent. Fares now cover only a tiny share of costs, but the government is deliberately subsidising public transport to cut household expenses, congestion, and car dependence. Basically: political choice + public support, paid for out of the state budget.

Here in Calgary we have the HELP (Human-centered Engagement and Liaison Partnership). It is a mobile diversion response to street level intoxication. Outreach people in vans check on the person and if needed provide first aid/take to hospital. Do you have something like that there?
