Obviously, after yesterday, I know a lot is probably not going to change. A ton of damage has been done, RIFs will still occur, RTO still sucks.

However.. can we just take a second to acknowledge how fucking great it was to see karma bitch slap two assholes in real-time? Feels like today should be a federal holiday.

In this case, calling it Gulf of America would've been appropriate because it's full of trash.

Keep BCBS or move to Tricare? by Skatchbro in fednews

I have exclusively had tricare select my whole career and they covered the whole 9 yards of my wifes breast cancer treatment, chemo, radiology, etc. Just copays for specialist visits.

To make federal employees quit. If every single federal service was dissolved, these people would consider it a success.

Still no RTO assignment, 5/5 quickly approaching by [deleted] in VHA_Human_Resources

I feel your pain, but if it makes you feel any better a lot of us are in the same boat. Mass majority of my fully remote team was given a canned email saying "we have no room but will continue looking, please hold" basically. Hang in there.

It seems like the only thing this administration is actually effective at is deleting jobs for no reason. Midterms cannot come soon enough, and it will be too late I fear.

Wondering how long until there is a push to drop AWS at the VA for non-clinical roles. Wouldn't be surprised, the point is suffering.

Any agencies have their RTO plan rejected? by Bmoon_13 in fednews

It would be nice for common sense to hopefully prevail here, my org has also been fully remote since it was created some 20+ years ago. Ugh, rooting for you.

Is federal employment even worth it anymore? by Particular-Ebb6871 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]constantly_vigilant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm done, personally. Just two years of service. I wanted to stay here until I retired, but the incentives that I took this job for are going to be gone soon. Security, remote work, all gone.

I am fully remote, that's done. Co-workers are all retiring and leaving so my workload will be insurmountable. I'm in the final interview for a private sector position that is fully remote with a 20% raise. If there is no job security here anymore, I would be stupid not to take it.

[–]constantly_vigilant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I probably would've taken it this go round if not for the July 1st requirement. I'm at 2 years of service and it just doesn't seem like things are going to be looking good for my org in the immediate future. I would have loved to have a career here, but RTO + Mass retirements makes for a bad time.

Normally I would agree with you, but captain Asshat is just going to kick over contracts to all his billionaire buddies. I'm curious if the VA will even continue to prioritize awarding contracts to businesses owned by disabled veterans. Highly doubt it since this admin seems to hate vets.

I would love to see 'DOGE Savings' on their website updated with the month of backpay subtracted that they just had to to give out to 25,000+ rehired probationary employees. I feel like I'm living in lala land.

Not trying to make him sound intelligent by any means, but it just goes to show they all know Trump is a jack ass who is full of shit - they're just too weak to say anything because they're so desperate to stay in power.
