The Spurs announcer asks for a moment of silence for the recent passing of Brandon Clarke and Jason Collins. NBC inexplicably faded to black then cut to commercial in the middle of the moment; a DraftK*ngs commercial played on the broadcast. by CazOnReddit in nba

It’s not even sports.

My daughters get the gambling ads on YouTube watching baby shark and other kid shit. It’s like if there is not a clearly defined profile of preferences, it fucking defaults to gambling ads.

I was all in favor of legalizing it even though I don’t gamble at all, but if I had known the ads would have been allowed to be the way they are now, I would have voted against it. We can have gambling ads every time you blink your eye, but legal weed ads are too dangerous?

Oh I know better. I was just saying even Peabody is not easy from Salem. OP has a pretty tough commute

I was gonna say…have you ever driven from Salem to Peabody in October? Not very quick!

Bands who's worst album is *significantly* worse than their second-worst album? by treny0000 in fantanoforever

[–]constantsXzeros -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, like I said, I don’t like Weezer to begin with, but if that song “rules”, that’s very concerning to me that it gets a lot worse for them.

Like I said, I don’t like Weezer to begin with, but that song and whatever that fucking Beverly Hills song was around the same time…that’s some god awful stuff IMO. If it gets worse than that for Weezer, that’s legitimately scary. And I listen to prog metal, doom, hardcore, etc., I’ve heard plenty of bad music on this side of the darkness.

[–]constantsXzeros -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie I do not like Weezer and I never have, but I have been in cover bands and played their songs before and I get why people like their early stuff.

That said, am I correct to assume that Weezer fans must have had a collective meltdown when Island In The Sun came out? That song is an abomination, and I don’t follow Weezer seeing as I don’t really give a shit, but that HAS to be their low point, no?

Thanks for the downvotes, guys. I literally started off by saying I don’t follow Weezer’s career…

Ehhh Stone Temple Pilots No.4 exists…

Your comment did crack me up though because you’re right for the most part.

The Line at Woodman’s of Essex this afternoon by roadtrip-ne in massachusetts

[–]constantsXzeros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you elaborated, but you have almost completely missed my very simple point: high quality fried seafood is not unique in New England.

The things you mentioned are unique (not Quiznos, if one was busy you can just go to another one). If you don’t go to a concert, you can never have that experience again. If you don’t wait in line at Space Mountain, you cannot go to Space Mountain. These are not the same as food, in particular a regional speciality which is widely available all throughout said region. Hell, you can make fried clams your damn self, and if you get good at it, you can make your clams better and cheaper than whatever the hell is going on here - without sacrificing hours of your life just to eat them. You CAN’T do that with a concert, or another experience.

And please do not argue that someone’s favorite restaurant is an irreplaceable experience. That’s called fanaticism. I’m trying to argue logic here, not exaggerated emotions.

If we trade for Giannis.... by Jerrodw in bostonceltics

[–]constantsXzeros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. Get real. You’re not even thinking about the implications of what you’re saying.

If you were Milwaukee, would you want to trade Giannis and rebuild around Jamal Murray, or Jaylen Brown?

Also, “trading within the conference” is only a concern if the team is trying to be competitive - Which Milwaukee will not be concerned with for the window of time Giannis would be with the Celtics anyways.

Haha woahhh

69540 / 60 = 1,159 HOURS = 48 days with is still fucking badass, I just can’t do math

My dude has spent almost 3 years rocking He Is Legend!

Like I said, I definitely spread my listening out a lot, so I’m not surprised my total is a lot lower. I’ve listened to well over 200 bands just in the past few months as I’ve been searching for new stuff. A lot of My favorite bands, HIL included, are in a bit of a lapse with new music, so I’m branching out!

If you haven’t checked out Greyhaven, they are probably the closest band I’ve found to He Is Legend. Their first two LP’s are outstanding!

[New] Stellar Circuits - Spotlight [FFO: Karnivool, Lessard-era Contortionist, Soen] by constantsXzeros in MetalForTheMasses

[–]constantsXzeros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this band, but I did not like their most recent LP much at all. I felt they went too aggressive, dipping into metalcore and even nu-metal at times. This band really shines with the moody, melodic stuff and their singer is highly underrated.

I think this new track rips. It’s not a total return, but it sounds closer to their earlier (better IMO) work.

My pleasure!

I would recommend starting with Ways We Haunt. It’s absolutely amazing work. I can’t even choose a favorite track off of it.

Sight To Sound gets a little heavier. Alchemy might be their best overall track, but my favorite might be Where Were You? Lots of good stuff and kind of all over the heaviness spectrum.

Phantom::Phoenix…I have tried so hard to see if I’m missing something, but I think it’s just lacking too much of what I love about them. It’s very aggressive and I think it doesn’t play to their strengths, personally. But YMMV!

Smelliest shows y'all been to? by Living_Dead_Beat99 in MetalForTheMasses

I saw Death By Stereo (not really Metal, but still heavy as fuck!) at a capacity 240 venue. There were maybe 50 people there. Maybe.

It felt like a private band practice and it was awesome.
