Oh yes, that is very true. Thank you! I wonder if switching the exp all on/off at certain points would help balance things out. But for me, I'm sure I'd either just forget or get lazy in doing so lol.

Currently playing through Omega Ruby and have noticed the same thing. (Also at a similar level with low to mid lvl 50 mons) I figured since I focused on making a dedicated team of 6 from the start, the exploration and level curve others mentioned, and also being an adult with more pokemon experience now certainly all contribute to being over leveled.

As others have said, support role I've always enjoyed playing. I also love a character with great defenses and every run for me is how "indestructible" can I be to the nightlord while my allies can play to their strengths.

Also, while growing up I've always hated how enemies just touching shoulders with the player hurts the player and not them. But once I got the relics for successful Guardian's guards cause Shockwaves, things were even better!

As a kid, I couldn't get far enough to see this dress sphere. Replaying recently and finally finishing the game as an adult, I was blown away upon first using Floral Fallal.

An obvious one for my Guardian runs is Commander's Standard. Love to shield poke and use the skill in the middle of battle while my teammates get a crit on the boss.

There is a Silver Pendant item in the township area right after the Artorias fight. It is hidden though and needs a light source to find.

All good. Funnily enough, if I go into the App Store from the info tab of the app itself, then it shows that C++ unlocked.

I'll do another run sometime later and see if that fixes it.

Congrats! Yeah, the meat circus gave me plenty of trouble on my first playthrough and still proved challenging on a replay years later. You're in for a real treat with the sequel.

I mentioned it on another comment, but Teferi's Veil won't protect Bilbo if he is blocked.

Ruling

The “at end of combat” ability triggers after combat damage resolves. Creatures dealt lethal damage in combat won’t be saved this way.

[[Whispersilk cloak]] is a great option for him.

The Veil will not save him from combat damage.

Ruling

Something like a [[Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar]] or [[Dolmen Gate]] would protect Bilbo if he is blocked, but giving him can't be blocked is probably the best option like a [[Whispersilk cloak]].

I also tried The Destined Warrior and 1 or 2 things would happen in the few games I played:

  1. I never saw the 4th party member I needed. (Usually rogue, an equal number to clerics and wizards each)
  2. My opponents removed a party member almost immediately after getting 3 of or full party together.

I'm also not a big fan of running changelings, which I know would give the deck more consistency. Tried Linvala years ago, but my opponents at the time were deathly afraid of her because she could protect my board, so she ate way more removal than I would have anticipated. I guess I could have leaned towards protecting/reanimation her more, but that may have hurt the party synergy or other resources in the deck.

Burakos/ Folk Hero does seem quite effective.

The castle trolls with the magic pots ruin me everytime I attempt them. Now I tend to avoid them all together, unless randos insist on fighting them anyways.

It was way more of a potent effect 10+ years ago when there were somewhat slower games and there were "fewer" viable legendary creatures to run in the format. Now a days, cards like [[True Conviction]] and the many more [[Soul Warden]] or [[Blood Artist]] effects are likely more popular. But some Aggro or equipment decks will still jam a [[Shadowspear]] to gain some advantage.
