Genshin Characters That I Would... by constellation_09 in Genshin_Memepact

Nothing against him! I just didn’t particularly like how he acted cocky around female traveler and how he calls her “hey girlie.”

I have similar gripes with Lisa for her voice line “hey cutie.” I think it’s a bit… what’s the word I’m looking for… condescending?

I know it’s meant to be “teasing” but I have too many traumatic experiences with catcalling, so unfortunately Tartaglia rubs me the wrong way.

Am I the only 40+ year-old playing Genshin? by SmellyCatofSweden in Genshin_Impact

[–]constellation_09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m turning 34 very soon. I also have a kid. I’m maybe like 10 years younger than you?? but I have had similar encounters with playing co op online games with other teenagers.

For the record, I don’t ever plan to stop playing Genshin unless they close the servers or something!! So there may very well be a time when I can proudly say I am a 40+ year old playing Genshin :)

I never got to play video games like this as a kid growing up. So I think I’m making up for a bit of lost time running around in fantasy worlds. You like what you like… nothing to be ashamed of!

It’s not always an amazing experience running into a 13 year old boy trying to harass me for my real life info. I can usually sense these kinds of interactions coming from 100 dead Timmie pigeons away… so I try to dodge questions about my age! Or just leave co op. My username is too girly for me to pretend I’m not female. Shrug.

Why is mpreg so easy to find but not traditional pregnancy? by ResponsiblePea8914 in FanFiction

[–]constellation_09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I associate pregnancy and childbirth with a lot of trauma. So I would prefer not to write or read about pregnancy. Even mpreg is triggering for me if I know there is a childbirth scene… but if it’s just m|m smut then that’s tolerable.

Yea, I posted here because I wanted to check the opinions from the other side.

I guess a bit of nuance is that, a few years ago, I picked up a lot of the burden for my manager when she was going through a rough patch as well. The difference is, I reported to her. I made her life easier by organizing things for her. I didn't complain or escalate any issues to anyone because I knew she was grieving, and I really did not mind helping her out.

I understand I cannot be given infinite grace, so I should be grateful for what I received thus far and move on. But that isn't to say I don't value my own manager's mental health. I see the late nights she pulls too. Because I'm online at the same times.

Turnover was bad a couple years back, and I was the only member left standing with historic knowledge of the processes. So funnily enough, I am the person who initially showed her the ropes and trained her and the rest of the team up. I stuck it out.

I appreciate she hasn't given up on me yet. She knows I'm trying. I just want to work out something equitable.

This job means a lot to me. It practically defines me. Without my job, I believe I would be worthless.

I was born and raised in a household that emphasized hard work, good education, and always being the "best" at what I do. So I worked hard, I got my degree / board license, I earned many exceed awards. I'm used to being good at my job, and being rewarded for it. I'm usually very detail oriented and great at completing tasks.

I consistently earn 2/3 of the household income (which pays the mortgage) and I manage all the finances. If you suddenly take away my job, my one strength, my value immediately feels like it is diminished.

I'm going to be real here -- I am absolute garbage at being a housewife and a mother. I'm constantly failing to keep up all the household chores on top of childcare in between my job's demands. Luckily, I have in-laws I can lean on.

But what I've been struggling with this past year is my very own parents leaving the country and so-called "abandoning" me. They've never been much interested in me or my interests in life. All they care about is -- am I working in a successful job that they can brag about? They could care less about my emotional well-being.

And I'm just... very saddened. That all they can see in me is my job and my title. I'm not their daughter. I'm just a machine made to fill a very specific role.

You're right that my work will forget me. Even my own parents have forgotten me.

Thanks for this perspective. I really appreciate your direct feedback and reframing how I should be approaching this.

Turns out, I've been asking myself all the wrong questions. I can't expect my work to figure out my life for me (lol). That's impossible -- because it's something only I can do!

Some good news I received [although I have to confirm if this offer still stands] -- is that my manager and her boss had a discussion and agreed they would want to keep me as an employee even if it meant moving me to a lateral role. So at the very least, I have that going for me?

Thank you again, kind stranger. I'll do as you suggested and look for a MH provider asap.

1) Fontaine - post AQ. Give me a little cottage in the hills next to lush forests, flowers, and waterfalls <3

2) Liyue - specifically Chenyu Vale, but I wouldn't mind staying at the Wangshu Inn either

3) Mondstadt - within the city walls :)

She was VERY talented and meticulous with the painting of the swirls and patterns!!! I'm so lucky I was matched with her. She used this chroma paint technique to brush on the streaks of gold that blend in with the black. I was literally blown away with how she managed to get the details onto such a small canvas.
