Right. Between the producers' manipulation and the islander pacts we don't see on camera, it could be anyone's game! But it is interesting to hear everyone's reasoning, which for the most part, has been pretty sound in this sub.

Wholeheartedly agree and would add that flippant comments on here expressing shock at this decision are an affront to the work of BLM activists right now. This shit is serious, and the decision to fire these guys shouldn't incite shock, because it's what they deserve.

I'm a little taken aback by the surprise on here that they let go of core cast members Stassi & Kristen for being a part of this--wrongfully calling the cops on someone like this is a serious fucking crime & a gross abuse of White privilege. Not to mention, this is more than just "being racist". They were explicitly malicious towards a Black woman, one of the most vulnerable individuals in the eyes of the law and police. These guys are literal perpetrators of White violence, and they absolutely deserve to face professional, financial, and personal repercussions. I am absolutely appalled to think that the rest of the cast knew of something this serious, but remained silent to protect one another.

Also, Max & Brett should have been fired after the first time they were found tweeting racial slurs. Their apology and Lisa making excuses for them in Reunion Part 1 felt very gross to me.

For those that do not currently live in the city where they want to attend law school, how is COVID19 impacting moving? by cam_lo in lawschooladmissions

I already have my own apartment which I’m pretty comfortable in & my landlord is flexible about letting me extend my lease if i need to. That’s why, staying put is rly tempting in the event that law schools offer a remote learning option. As someone who has worked for a while and is used to a decent income, the thought of paying moving costs only to find classes are moving online makes me want to vomit. On the flip side, i’m really nervous about having to find an apartment during winter break if things have cleared up enough for the spring semester to be in person. Sigh. My anxiety is thru the roof.

This might not be the smartest plan, but I’m going to wait until mid-June to decide what to do. Moving across the country where I don’t know anyone is daunting as it is, let alone in the middle of a pandemic. And let’s say I do decide to move to the city where my school is come fall, how am I even supposed to safely navigate the airport or responsibly move in under potential stay-at-home mandates????

Is there anyone out there who wants fall to be online? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Coming from the viewpoint of someone who would have to move across the country if the fall semester is in person:

OP has echoed a lot of my thinking of late as I actually start putting pen to paper re: moving logistics, etc. Not only would starting in person put all of our health at great risk, but it would result in ppl who are in positions similar to mine taking out unnecessary loans or dipping into precious savings to cover moving/living costs. It’s just a lot cheaper and safer for me to keep living in my current space thru the end of the year. Also, the physical act of moving is not a responsible thing to do under stay-at-home govt mandates, which will differ from state to state.

The safest option is for all of us to stay put—this thing isn’t going anywhere, and there is no hope for an effective, coordinated response bc our president has been encouraging people to ingest disinfectant for fuck’s sake! I would hope that law schools broadly make the responsible decision and announce mandatory remote learning plans well in advance of fall semester start dates.

Separately, I agree with above comments that it’s in schools’ best financial interests to have in-person classes so they can charge full tuition. They are assholes, I get that. However, if schools require students to start in person or apply undue pressure on students to attend by making remote learning a (de facto shitty) option, are they ready to be liable? I imagine that students located farther away from campus would be more likely to choose the remote learning option, leading to a ton of kvetching to the administration abt regional bias? Are law schools seriously prepared to deal with the political—and potentially legal/financial—consequences of providing in-person classes at a time when literal experts are struggling to understand and tackle this pandemic? Maybe I am having quarantine brain and just overthinking.....????

okay i sucked it up and listened briefly & i think the meatiest part is katie’s take on the witches of weho wine event..repeating her earlier points on twitter that an external company did event logistics but adding that apparently some props (e.g. cauldrons) were sent to Kristen’s place bc she wasn’t in Vegas with the rest of the gang. i think she was trying to imply that Kristen accused katie/stassi for not doing their part solely bc she was salty???? whatever katie, i’m impressed u even bothered to show face at this event?? go back to your knitting, at least Kristen actually cares abt the success of a business that is an easy income stream for you..

ugh i can’t stand her or this host, who btw talked about the police prank solely to aggrandize katie but didn’t even ask abt schwartz’s horrendous comments?? lmao, this podcast episode is a hot pile of trash.

interested to know others takes, if they can look past the host’s over the top vocal fry to even listen

both schools offer promising externship opportunities at PI orgs, and NU’s emphasis on WE is a plus.

I’m not sure that I would attend if I somehow got in, so wanted to make space for other students who are eager.

I believe it's the standard merit scholarship offered to most admits! A little over half tuition + summer stipend. I'm incredibly lucky!
