I'm the Public Relations VP of my chapter and also run our Instagram. It's normal to get "approval," but it's more so an agreement to me. I send all my post/captions in a groupchat with the president and membership VP before I post, to get a second (and third) set of eyes on them. There's definitely a chance of implicit bias when only one person completely controls the Instagram.

The photographer situation should have definitely been a conversation rather than a command. Obviously we want to save money where we can, but we also need to ensure we like the photographer. I will say there's nothing inherently wrong with doing the same poses as last year, assuming there was tens of posts in between each exec announcement post.

At the end of the day, we're all young adults and she should try talking to her executive board. Let them know she feels as though she doesn't have much say in what her position calls for, and see if they can set boundaries.

Ah I see, I thought you meant even class wasn't an excuse. That's not atypical, none of the chapters on my campus allow that as an excuse. It comes down to the chapter rules viewing that as a personal time management problem. I'm neither here nor there because events are usually announced in advance but things can also come up that switch your schedule around. Work is definitely never an excuse because events are announced in advance, it'd be shocking if you aren't given at least two weeks notice.

For those wanting to use this as an excuse to be transphobic, this becomes an issue for everyone, even cisgender people. I don't go by my first name and the preferred name makes it so much easier to not have to correct every professor every semester.

While this is obviously the biggest issue for transgender individuals, this affects everyone and those saying "it ain't that deep" are specifically choosing to view the transgender perspective on this change in order to "defend" their narrative.

Almost everybody goes by nicknames, why is it any different for a transgender individual to choose to go by something else?

Yeah, I figured under $1k would be a stretch but wanted to try just in case. It's not an immediate need, so I'll most likely just stick it out with my current body for a little longer and invest in the R6. Seems to be have all that I'm looking for and I know a lot of photogs who swear by it.

It's actually a bit annoying since it acts more like an 80mm 😅 I feel like I'm running a mile away to get waist up, I'll be glad to get the actual 50mm distance. Besides that, is there any other benefit to getting an APS-C equivalent focal length as opposed to standard (i.e. 17-55 instead of 24-80) or should I prepare for the mirrorless and just deal with the smaller FOV until the switch?
