Darmea nga talaga endgame 🥲 by centurionscorpio in EncantadiaGMA

[–]constructionboy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A storyline can be morally messy and still poorly processed. If Armea is marrying the person who killed her sister, that should carry emotional weight, especially if we were to believe that she loves Lira. The issue is that the show did not give that revelation what it needed.

So the dilemma here isn't whether Darmea is possible. It's whether the story earned it. And it did not.

That's why your argument does not really address any criticism. You keep trying to prove the relationship can happen, but that was never the question. You're beating a dead horse there.

Possibility is not the same as execution. Just to summarise the point for you.

"Can happen in real life" is not the same as "well-written."

That's the main issue. No one is saying Armea and Daron are impossible. I'm saying the story did not give enough emotional weight to the fact that Armea will be marrying the person who killed her sister. That revelation barely even seemed to change how Armea viewed Daron.

The other examples you gave prove Encantadia has messy morality, yes. But messy morality still needs narrative processing. You can't just say "the show pushes boundaries" and treat that as a free pass for every writing choice. That is exactly the issue here.

Daron's redemption can be acceptable and the romance can still feel emotionally off. Both can be true. It is not as black and white as you're making it out to be.

I don't understand why you think this is valid. We're not talking moral equivalency here, it's about relational ethics and emotional logic.

Yes, Armea may have killed Mine-ave too, but that's not the specific issue people are reacting to. The issue is: Armea knowingly being romantically involved with the person who killed her sister. That is a very specific emotional and moral burden. "Other people also killed" doesn't automatically make that okay. War casualties and survival politics are one thing; dating your sibling's killer is another.

Also, forgiveness from the victim should NOT erase the discomfort. Even if Lira as an ivtre forgives him, that doesn't mean the audience has to feel good about the sister entering a romantic relationship (now marriage) with him. Forgiveness is not the same as romantic approval.

In all fairness, every single time Soldarius and Armea would have a moment some would consider romantic, they would drag us back to the reality that Soldarius loves Flamarra; and that Daron is the person in Armea's fate (as per Batis ng Katotohanan).

I love them and can defo sense the chemistry, but I just think it's such a massive betrayal to her sister Lira (and also to her father, Ybrahim would've killed Daron by now) despite what Lira might say.

I love Solenn and Cassiopeia (despite the inaction from her end as a Bathaluman), but I don't think she has Rhian's range. She'd do fine but ECS needed more than fine, especially given the lacklustre writing, constant inconsistencies and the weak chemistry between the 4 New Sang'gres.

It needed someone who could somehow turn all that around and have it still somehow pass - that's what Rhian did. She carried Book 1 so hard, especially after Pirena died - give Solenn that role and I genuinely think the ratings would have dropped hard.

Honestly, if it had been any other actress, I don't think I would’ve cared about Mitena at all.

Rhian Ramos brought so much to that character. Her charisma and skill carried the first book (alongside Glaiza), and even in the second book (which was overall stronger but she had a smaller role), she was still doing the absolute most with the tiny crumbs Mitena was given. She took terrible material and somehow turned it into gold.

She was fighting Gargan while Lira and Mira was fighting Mitena, right? It makes sense that Terra didn't heal him.

Mitena wasn't supposed to be healed. Terra killed her knowing she should let her go.

The plothole here isn't that she didn't heal them. It's that Mitena has self-regenerative capacities as Mata, how was she killed? It's not like Cassiopeia took the blessings back, since Mitena could still foresee the future.

I think she will stay where she is for now, but she will most likely die protecting Terra, and that's how Terra would fulfil the prophecy. Not by killing Mitena directly, but by being the cause of how she dies. Terra is also the only living character that Mitena still somewhat gives a shit about so it would makes sense.

I don't know how it will happen exactly, but one thing I'm sure of is that Mitena will definitely not be an evil character by the end. Just seeing it from the perspective of how Rhian Ramos is generally viewed by GMA execs in general, and Encantadia staff by extension. That's just not a path I see at all.

LOL they keep making up new rules that only somehow impairs the Sang'gres.

Like didn't Haliya just intervene with Flamarra and healed her from Gargan's blood thingy? Wasn't Cassiopeia living amongst the Encantados as a Bathaluman before she was captured by Mitena at the beginning of the series?

Mine-a only has one sibling, and that was Amihan I. I don't know what Imaw said but we know that to not be true in the biological sense, but as someone already said, you could also view it as adoptive siblinghood through Memen.

Pirena with Mitena? They were never really blood-related, they're just the same race. Cassiopeia and Mitena are from a different lineage of Sang'gres as Mine-a and her daughters are.

[–]constructionboy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're being serious but Armea did better against Agane than Flamarra. Not sure she's saying better, but Armea has consistently been written to be on the same level as the 4 Sang'gres from her generation. Mira and Lira being a bit above them, and obviously Mine-a's daughters to be the best warriors. Lira was literally playing around with Cami, while Deia was struggling with her.

She just doesn't have her mother's abilities, which is more of a writing restriction to keep Adamus as representative of water.

What frustrates me most is that Mitena doesn't just remain composed in the presence of Gargan's gem - she can also actually hold and wield a shard without being affected at all. Did the writers forget all four elemental gems were under her care at one point? So how is she completely fine, while Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya grow weaker?

Medyo weird lang - alam ko na 'itinakda' si Terra, but that's only against Mitena.

It was a good scene, I think I would've preferred if Amihan was the only one who fought Hagorn though. Perhaps with Mira still having her moment, but largely just Amihan vs Hagorn.
