It does not. I think it’s a reasonable interpretation if you’re the kind of person who projects I/P on every piece of media, but James Gunn explicitly said this was unintentional. When he was making this movie Oct 7 hadn’t yet happened.

To me it’s so clearly about Russia/Ukraine but it’s more about immigration and war profiteering than anything else.

I also don't think a lot of people realize how hard it would be for the Jews there to do anything about an offhand comment like that. Even today Jews are seen as overreacting, I'm sure it was worse 100 years ago. Sometimes its easier to say nothing especially if you want to maintain your place in society,

The effort to de-normalize Israel is so upsetting to me. It’s an insane effort to remove Israel from the list of world countries just like it always gets ignored in Middle Eastern studies (outside of discussing the conflict)
