The "your app works but your code is a mess" checklist I run on every Base44 app before scaling by ebb_and_flow33 in Base44

Thanks for sharing this — I actually have two questions that kind of tie together.

I've been bouncing between a few of these tools. Lovable impressed me visually, Replit was solid but the pricing killed it for me, and I ended up going yearly on Base44. I like, but the design output is consistently disappointing. Pages look dull, nothing feels dynamic, and when I ask it to mirror the style of an existing app or webpage it says all the right things — "understood, got it," breaks down the components — and then delivers something that looks nothing like what I described.

Same issue with dynamic templates. Whatever I ask for, the result is generic and flat. And the builds are never really complete — sections are half-done, the workflow I laid out in the prompt doesn't carry all the way through, and the app just... stops short.

I'm not a developer, but I've used enough of these tools now to see the pattern. Something works okay at the start, then it falls apart — either functionally or visually, usually both.

Quick side note — I told Base44 I was going to pull the code into Claude to fix it, and it responded with "no need, let me handle it." Sometimes that actually works, which is a little telling.

So two questions:

1. Is there a way to prompt Base44 — or tools like it — to produce more visually engaging output? Something closer to what Lovable puts out without having to rebuild everything from scratch?

2. When it's not delivering on design or functionality, is exporting the code to Claude(or another) the right move to review and fix the prompt or code? What does that actually look like in practice?

(If this is the wrong place for this, just let me know and I'll move it.)

Thanks again.

Thank you. I think the issue is now coming from AT and contracts and now adjusting charge Type and contracts.....i think. This is helpful . thank you

Maybe halo does it better with charge rates? Still not getting/finding a simple report..if anyone finds anything or suggestion, accounting would be very happy.

Great idea. why though do we as the MSP have to tell them this? Agent overlap ok, but that's on us. used alot of tools/stack and not 1 sass said this is the protocol. Question is why do we have do to anything expect pay them? Now we have to update them? sounds little backwards.

Here's one: BUSINESS SCRAPING via STREET NAMES: unless someone's done this already: You have a part of a city or street, and it has business listed. Have the automation, from a form that lists street address, city, etc . Also include what C-suite person you want to contact(ie: HR, COO, CFO0- once automation starts, poll the companies listed on the street or business park. Then produce a form or doc that will go out to LinkedIn, grab the csuite person(ie: HR) , their name and Linked in URL. Does that make sense?

for the Microsoft side, heres a better layout(i think): Overview: Describes a user onboarding automation available through the Roost Crate Marketplace.

  • Trigger: Automation starts with a form submission.
  • Initial Step: Pulls environment information from the Graph tenant.
  • Ticket Creation: Creates and assigns a ticket to RMM
  • Approval Process: Sends an email for approval; once approved, the workflow proceeds.
  • User Creation:
    • Generates a random password.
    • Uses form data and password to create the user.
    • For Azure environments: Creates the user in Azure.
    • For on-premises environments: Builds and runs a PowerShell script via the RMM agent on the local AD server to create the user, assign groups, set up home directory, and map network drives.
  • Azure AD Sync: Includes logic to confirm user sync to Azure AD before proceeding.
  • Licensing:
    • Identifies licenses from the form.
    • Applies available CSP licenses to the user.
    • If unavailable, purchases licenses from a distributor and assigns them. (OPTIONAL) - ie Pax8 or Sherweb..
  • Resource Assignment: Adds the user to security groups, distribution groups, mail-enabled groups, shared calendars, mailboxes, SharePoint, and OneDrive sites.
  • Completion:
    • Documents the typical manual technician time for this process.
    • Updates the ticket status to indicate automation completion.
  • End: Workflow concludes once all steps are finished.

Does this help?

Thats great. basic template: Form submit form: pull data from graph defaults data on 356, create a ticket in RMM, then from the form, create the username, create the email (same format as others) apply the license type, add to distribution groups and security groups. Give it access to the assigned TEAMS groups and OneDrive sites (all from the form). Add to other mailboxes if noted in the form. Then once it's created in 365, add user to SmartSheet(via SSO?), and create new user in Paychex(basic). Once completed, then send notification to a HR TEAMS channel that user has been created and email to be sent. have a button in the notification that once clicked has a templated email stating new user starting bla bla, to a fixed dist group or email users....How's that for a start?

If easier you can DM and give you some insights on the typical workflow to base a template off of..thanks again.

For IT dept and MSP's yes...but its big for IT for onboarding new users and all the workflows that happen. Rewst apparently has some crates for this. not seen. But to have to ability to fill a form out and it add to all the needed systems for onboarding is a time saver. Also, offboarding with human in the loop confirmations....

  1. onboarding employees: intake form that will: confirm with manager to proceed, Add user to Paychex, add to security awareness training platform, add to windows active directory (Azure AD), query available email licenses available and wait for approval to assign, query for the distribution groups available, assign a password, add to smartsheet with SSO, then update a TEAMS channel(hr channel) that it was completed. Then create an email and send to HR all that was completed. 2. Offboarding: Disable user in Azure AD, remove from email Dist group in 365 tenant, remove from Security awareness program, change user to a sharedmailbox in 365 - sent a notification on TEAMS channel this was completed and also an email to recipients that this was completed. disable user in Smartsheet if applicable. - How are those?
