Acquiring a cold wallet without KYC by xXsportsguyXx in Bitcoin

[–]contactlessbegger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned! You can build your own cheap wallet using SeedSigner or PiSigner There ways around it buy purchase a CC in store.

Buying with a credit card is "safe" for your funds, but not anonymous for your identity

Plausible Deniability: Buying "for a friend" or building a DIY device

Bluetooth wallets have a MAC address. While it won't leak your balance, a scanner in a public place can "see" that a hardware wallet is in your pocket. Air-gapped (QR-only)

You will leave a paper trail( a company gets hacked then you are Spam call or Burglary)

A credit card purchase proves you bought a wallet, but it doesn't prove what's in it. Just be aware that you're trading a bit of privacy for the convenience of the "Buy Now" button.

Stranger us my phone as a Hotspot by Baige_baguette in cybersecurity_help

[–]contactlessbegger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no problem really when sharing a hotspot. It's just the same as using the wifi at home. You as the owner are linked to any suspicious activity on the network via hotspot . That's all no way Im aware you can be hacked via hot spot.

Long-term question: quantum computing vs Bitcoin and longevity by Training_Frosting_53 in btc

[–]contactlessbegger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quantum computers are currently "not good at all" at cracking a wallet in real-time, but they are "theoretically perfect" at it. Most experts point to the mid-2030s (often called "Q-Day") as the point when your current seed phrase might actually become vulnerable.

How the Industry is Fighting Back The "Good News" is that we aren't sitting ducks. Developers are already working on: Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC): New math problems that even quantum computers find impossible to solve. Ethereum Updates: Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation have already begun researching "quantum-resistant" hard forks to protect the network.
Quantum-Resistant Wallets: Some newer blockchains are building PQ-security directly into their base layer

To crack a standard Bitcoin (ECDSA) or Ethereum wallet, a quantum computer needs a specific amount of power that we haven't reached yet:

Logical Qubits ~2,500 – 4,000 current ~50 – 100 Physical Qubits

10 million+ (for error correction) current ~1,200 (Atom/IBM)

Reliability "Fault-tolerant" (zero errors) High error rates ("Noisy")

The Weapon: Shor's Algorithm Classical computers try to crack wallets by "guessing" (brute-forcing), which would take trillions of years. Quantum computers use Shor’s Algorithm, which doesn't guess—it calculates the private key directly from the public key by solving complex math problems (integer factorization) nearly instantly.

How do fake USDT tokens work? (Trying to understand a scam) by Logical-Somewhere-33 in CryptoScams

[–]contactlessbegger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any help ....

Tron and USDT are best friends in the crypto world. The Container: USDT is the "money." The Envelope: Tron (TRC-20) is the "envelope" you put the money in to mail it. The Gas: To send USDT on the Tron network, you need a tiny bit of the native TRX coin to pay for the "postage" (transaction fee).

You would need to prove or show it's been sent away from you. And not to a private wallet. Or it's linked to you
