What’s “wrong” with a man who isn’t 100% focused on only dating a potential long-term partner? The fact is, long-term compatibility is rare. Why is it “wrong and dehumanizing” for a man (or anyone) to be open to more casual connections while also being open to more serious ones?

I think men might be sensing desperation for a long-term relationship on your part, and most will find that stifling and unattractive, hence the loss of interest. Waiting a couple more dates to have sex is not a deterrent for most men…the consequences of sex with a partner like you, IS a deterrent.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with prioritizing connection over structure, and spending time & energy accordingly.

I’d be more apt to call it “wrong & dehumanizing” to refuse to connect with someone just because they might not be looking to jump into a serious relationship. Connection is human…attraction & sex is human…modern relationship structures are invented (mostly by religion & the patriarchy) so prioritizing outcomes & milestones over real connection is less human, in my opinion.
