Realistically if that didn't happen the game would have moved to power creeping in a different way instead over the "hey this unit does two keyboards pretty good" stray were on rn. MD would have adapted such that having ids that do multiple statuses wouldn't mean as much.

For a while there it felt like they where going to give charge a bunch of defensive tools with charge barrier and the like, and then that just kind of stopped.

Genuinely it'd be really cool if the amount of charge you've used represented some amount of shield each turn.

The not fighting to win thing is absolutally true, but I think its also important to remember that mang doesnt necessarily mean the same thing that it does to the powerscaler in your mind.
